this thought occurred to me from another thread
a false floor
let's say a room that is 8 x 8 feet, which works well with 4 foot t8 tubes
total depth is 2 feet, i've done lst in 2 feet with great results
the floor is the grow chamber, with the height disguised, probably a 'sunken' grow chamber
i don't believe i've seen this posted anywhere

a lot of industrial buildings have floors like these, there are lift-able panels that you can pop up
height is 2 foot with t8 fluoroscopes, they work well with limited height
sound, venting, you have those issues no matter the grow chamber(usually), you'd have to be clever
a lot depends on the house/floor, it would take a lot of work
i kind of like the idea of police walking over a grow, and no sign to be seen

I have a grow going on that is in a room that is secretly attached to a closet. to get to it, you need to enter the closet and go behind the clothes and remove a false wall that is on hinges. The room is 3x3x6. It's perfect for a 4 plant grow with a 400w and it cant be detected even if you open up the closet.

here's a more detailed thought, this will be the more micro option
typical floors have 2 x 6 wood joists as supports, often with 16 inch spacing between the joists centers
that gives you 14 inches of grow width on a typical floor system
length, say 4 feet for t8 fluoro bubs, tight fit, but i've done lst's in spaces just as small, scrog could work too
the floor would look like a tile floor, one section of tile covers the grow chamber
an external fan pumps air through, fan could be a distance away for stealth, connected by some ducting
exhaust comes out the other end

IMAGINE.....Install a bank vault that is lined with thermite underneath an elevator shaft. a removable panel in the elevator hides a button that takes the elevator to the vault. If the code is entered wrong three times, the thermite ignites and turns the grow into molten lava. Then you dont need to worry about police because if the find it, it will self destruct. But really I have about 20lbs of thermite that I use for fireworks. MAbe somehow I can rig my grow to detonate some thermite and destroy all evidence.

we laugh, it is funny, but if the man is in your house, and you're not legal, and many of us aren't
then thermite doesn't sound too bad
depends where you are, some states have a paranoid state of mind

Thinking about a grow in a metal fridge with the top lined with thermite. when the front is opened, the thermite detonates by a pressure plate that I use for firework displays. A blasting cap is detonated. The trick is, IM going to build a door on the back that I use. Any police will be blinded by the thermite when they open it and within seconds, my plant and lights will become part of the molten lava. And the funny thing is, thermite isnt illigal. but then again they could charge me with arson.
