Hey,

Does anyone know of a thing called a Y-splitter?
They are used to run 2 bulbs from one scoket.

I could really do with some of those babies!
Are they about in the u.k? i have looked but cannot see any.

Thanks

My setup doesnt allow me to use anythink else but cfl's, the sites that do have them are non-uk.

Hope fully someone will shed some light!

Thanks

i agree, i went to a mooohassive BnQ that was close at hand, and they dodn't even have big bulbs in the curly shape as used by everyone, let alone Y splitters, i had to settle for two 1M tubes, not used em yet, they're prolly the wrong shade. as said, might as well just get an hps, there are loads of realllly good stores around, http://www.aquaculture-hydroponics.co.uk being REALLY good, although they use city link even for the small parcels which sucks, royal mail would have it waiting 500m down the road for me, city links little "we missed you" note got chuked to the side by the other house people, so i found it after too long and had to spend 2 hours driving around to find their depot. other than that though, first rate, seem to have a good stock at goood prices.

there was another thread on this asking the same question.

one of the posters said that they aren't available in the UK anymore because of not passing the safety tests...

Hey guys, i also looked for these and came up with zip.
I then decided to go with 1 x 250watt 2700k and 1 x 250 watt 4400k cfl, along with plenty of 20watt cfl in both colours, these are doin the job superb, the only draw back is having to place the 20watters seperatly.

I could beleive this, wouldnt trust their saftey, remember we use twice the ammount of voltage in the UK, could well be dangerouse to use a splitter. But, just to argue with myself, if its fine to have a chandalier or spot light, which in theory is a splitter, why wouldnt it be safe.
I dont know anymore
