UK OUTDOOR - Are SATS even Possible???

If it takes a Sativa 12 to 16 weeks of Flowering time to be ready for harvest
and the Flowering will not begin until the daylight hours have dropped to 12 or 13.

Is it even possible to bring a SAT to harvest in the outdoors UK grow???

Link to UK weather conditions and expected light hours:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=136&month=9&year=2014&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1

In 2014 12hours of daylight will start on March 18th
On the June 21st (Solstice) DAYLIGHT HOURS PEAK at 16hours 38minutes.

By AUGUST 25TH we get 14hours per day
SEPTEMBER 10th before we drop to less than 13hours of daily sunlight
and
SEPTEMBER 26TH before we experience more darkness than light (or less than 12hours of daily light).

Even if SATS started to FLOWER when they had 10 hours of darkness (25th August)
it would be NOVEMBER 25th before it was ready to harvest - if FLOWER PHASE TOOK 13 WEEKS
If they needed longer.....
Well it's academic because, by Nov 25th, they'd be long dead from cold.

Yeah, Sam, it has me curious.

I prefer the more 'lively' more cerebral high of a good Sativa to the heavy eyed, gouch of Indicas
Sats provoke giggles and mischief - Indicas promote MONGING
(not that I'm complaining....).

Unfortunately the sheer size of a SAT makes indoor growing expensive
(I'd have to sacrifice growing SO MANY Indica's....).
And it seems that outdoors in the UK isn't good for them, either...?

My parents have a big, secluded garden - with a greenhouse
But, if they even suspected I was growing in it, they'd either have heart attacks, phone the cops
or both!
To my parents growing a marijuana plant is on par with being a serial killer.

My Mam was a nurse, 25 years ago, when they first found out I smoked weed.
She told me she could get me an unlimited supply of diazepam (valium) to help me stop using weed.

I stopped using for 4 weeks - without diazepam or anything - just to show her I wasn't an 'addict'.
My parents are hugely misinformed - but they're my parents and I worship them.

there are some with long flower times that start flowering earlier than others. Durban is one I have grown it flowered longer than the mostly indicas but also started to flower a good three weeks earlier. I'm nt certain which ones are best I have heard a lot of Durban poison has indica in it. the Durban I grew cam from African seed co.? not certain they are still in the seed game? they had others listed as early flowering sativas such as transkie green (spl?) back when I had tried them.
.
tell your mom that fucking diazepam will kill you, misinformed is an understatement. benzos will lay waste to anyone who decides to take them for any extended period. life will never be the same after benzo dependence or addiction begins. to avoid dependence don't ever start taking them. they are the worst drug that everyone thinks won't cause harm.

I know about Bnzo's, mate.
My Mam was a psychiatric nurse for 35 years - and still so mixed up about cannabis V pharmaceuticals ....
It must be a generational thing?

DURBAN
Have you seen the CANNABIS CULTURE article
DURBAN V DURBAN?

It's a real eye opener.
I strongly recommend you reading it.
Easy to google

oh meant to mention the Durban I had was done around mid oct which is pushing it for my area. they grew realy large and tall with skinny buds, long buds. I'm certain it got me quite high but honestly the small details are gone from memory with time.

no I haven't read the article, is it available online?
an yea sorry I don't want to be preaching anti drugs i had a long realationship with a girl who ruined her life from benzos, it's a scary thing

edit- i found the article you mentioned, durban vs durban. that doesn't realy surprise me i guess. many banks (and breeders) will tell you anything they think that will sell more seeds.

Would the hypothetical growing situation allow you to artificially dictate daylight hours?
For me...?
Definitely not.
There either fully in or fully out
except for the few weeks when indoor grown gets acclimatised (by carrying them outside in their little pots).

Once planted in their outdoor spots - the Weather Gods take over.
I take nutes, pest preventions/cures and if a dry season, water.
I cannot manipulate the light they receive.

Other people manage it quite happily keeping them purely outdoors.

My point being, would your grow be in a location accessible on a daily basis, or of the variety where you see it once a week etc.

So BOTH INDICAS AND SATIVAS NEED THE DAY TO DROP TO 12/13 HOURS OF SUNLIGHT BEFORE FLOWERING IS EVEN TRIGGERED....
THEN INDICAS NEED 6 OR 7 WEEKS TO COMPLETE BUT
SATS NEED 12 TO 16 WEEKS -JUST TO FLOWER!!!!

WELL THENS IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO BRING A SAT TO FLOWER IN THE UK OUTDOORS.
12 WEEKS LEFT WHEN THEY START TO FLOWER IN SEPTEMBER....???

They wouldn't be ready before Christmas
or about 6 weeks after the frosts and harsh winter conditions had killed it.
BUT...you seemed so sure, what has changed?

6-7 for an indica? Is the guy purposely trying to grow bunk? Try 8-9.
no he just talking out of his ass, claiming to know everything, in a previous thread he was stating this with such a deal of certainty, to the effect that he's talking down other members, and now whats this? NorthofEngland is unsure? maybe you should do some more google searches to find an answer, as Im sure that's where your "experience" has came from
