Maybe the UK police have the authority to do this, but in the US they dont need to do this to catch people.
Plus our Jails are overcrowded with real criminals as it is.

your missing my point a bit.
what you can do is find a seller that sells mostly grow gear ie a dealer in hydro lites grow tents filters whatever look at his feedback then u can see who's been buying what. save the id of the buyer of the grow gear as a favourite then all you gotta do is wait for that person to sell something buy it then u got name and address of seller who was the buyer of the grow gear

plus the uk police stoop very low to catch a petty thrief never mind an illegal plant grower
lets put it this way i got arrested a few years back for breaking a plastic plant pot of a neighbours uk price 15p we are talking less than what u pay for a liter of petrol/gas in the usa i had to pay court costs of £80 so something like 150 dollars and to replace the plant pot Now that is how low the uk police go
i personally would dream of buying anything for my grow of ebay but thats just my opinion

Ahh, I see what you are saying, But what gives them the right to sequester information from e-bay about which user name belongs to you.
They dont know who you are on e-bay, and e-bay isnt going to give out that info.
There would be no way for them to find out your user name, without a warrant of e-bay's records and no judge would grant that.
I dont think a judge ever has! I will keep looking for info to see if it has been done.
But I see your point.

the only thing people see on ebay reguarding id is a user name ie (ganjg22) but if i bought something off (ganjg22) with a cheque (ganjg22)would have to email me his / her address.

so your talking about just picking some random person who history on e-bay shows theyve been buying big ticket items and singling them out....
well I follow you on that, fortionatly the police from one state dont have juristicdtion in others. The DEA maybe, but the DEA mostly Targets big 400+ plant grows.
IDK, I have never used e-bay to get anything, but if i Did have to I would pay with Money order under a new account with fake info sent to your local shipping depot whom you have a deal worked out with to get your mail there.

Thats playing it safe, in the uk police forces pass info to other regional forces. i had heard on this forum uk growers had been busted after using ebay i thought about it and came up with that theory youve gotta be careful and not take chances in the uk if they bust ya they make an example of ya to put would be growers off.

Most of the people on ebay that sell grow equip usually have thousands of feedback comments, i severely doubt you will get singled out of that crowd.
Even if they have your address, so what. They wont be able to get a search warrant on the grounds that you bought some nutrients or lights or something!
