alright i have been through the ringer with these plants and now, three weeks into flowering, i think i have a herm. I started six w/ fem seeds, got two males that i ditched at ten days, three def females and one plant that just refused to flower for the longest time. well about a week ago it started getting tons of pistols so i was happy, another female. well today i am doing my morning routine of examining the girls, i notice under some of the new flowers on this plant there are these things sticking that look like unopened male flowers. i looked at some pics of other herms and that def seems to be the prob. omg i hope my other females have not been pollinated!!! they are looking so delicious! so what do i do now, chop the plant or just cut off those little "balls"? id hate to lose the plant, but i don't want any seeds in my bud!!!

you're gonna have to kill it. once the male pods start to open it's to late. get it out before this happens.

alright im looking and looking and i can't decide if this is a female flower not yet opened or a male one?? i tried to get a pic w/ my digi but it sucks it can't zoom in that close. gonna try my camera phone. would it be possible to cut one off and see if there are pistols inside? god plant surgery lol

cut one off and see if there is pollen inside. it may be pasty and it will be white.

ok i cut one off and it didn't seem to have anything inside other than green... got some pics w/ the cam phone going to try and post them now...

more pics... cut three of them open and only green inside. the only dif i can notice between them and the female flowers is that instead of being attached right up against the plant, they come out on a little stem.

oh man that blew. just chopped it. my biggest plant of course. thanks a lot for the confirmation fdd!! i guess this is why all that time i couldn't decide if the plant was a male or female! it didn't even show any pistols until two weeks flowering and now at three weeks i saw those male parts. i thought about trying to "castrate" her lol but decided too risky with the other three girls well into flowering. heres to hoping they didn't get pollinated!! i didn't see any open male flowers and the pods i cut open didn't have anything inside yet so i may get lucky. you know whats funny is that i actually owned a hermie goat once. "she" had one testicle descended and one not, so we had the one ball castrated (they do this by crushing the tube that attaches the testicle so that it shrivels up) but the other was inside her body and we weren't getting the goat surgery... so she looked kinda like both a male and female. male looking head and beard but also an udder and all her female parts... she used to constantly hump all the other females. fucking weird. sorry im off on a tangent here but i thought that story might amuse some stoned people lol ah im sad about my plant i need to get stoned lol

As I has asked in another post, if these come from fem seeds, then wouldn't those seeds have been fem seeds this plant would have given? Couldn't you have wound up with absolutely hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of fem seeds from this situation? Aren't they like a hundred bucks per pack of ten? If the seeds came from a female herme, then these seeds too would have been fems, wouldn't they? If this is true, wouldn't you have been pretty well off to let the plant screw your females and you may have ended up with literally thousands of dollars worth of fem seeds, supply for years in the freezer, selling them to friends, etc....

i dunno i had two male plants one hermie and three females out of six fem seeds. so its no guarentee. and i really want to get some good herb out of my plants!! from now on its cloning all the way for me... so i don't know the answer to your question sorry-- does anyone else???

I hate to start another war between certain people, but some folks say that it's impossible to get a full male plant out of a fem seed. they say it's only possible to get either a female or a herme. Anyone know if this is true?

If these were going to be fem seeds out of this herme, then man, a bunch of female crops in the future would have been easily wirth compromising the first grow. You could have had female crops for a long time to come, only pulling the occasional herme. Please, there must be some real info on this. Can a fem seed grow a pure male, even though it came from a parent with both xx cells? This is huge info so there has to be a real answer.

yeah i would be interested as well--- anyone know the answers??? the two males i got from fem seeds were def full male-

i think this thread answers all your questions.

he started with "feminized" seeds and got males and hermies. i assume these were from a seed bank. so if the seed bank can't guarantee females, how can anyone else?

hermies = hermies
like begets like

It doesn't answer it either. What if he simply mistook a herme for an all male? What if male sacks came simply before the female parts and he assumed they were all male? I mean there has to be a scientific answer, as a PURE FACT. The posters opinion that they were all male really proves nothing other than that he thought they were all male.

he said they were feminized seeds. shouldn't be any males or hermies.
