Two root bases?

So I noticed when I planted my seedlings deep in my net pot, the part of the stem that was constantly being dripped on started to form roots all the way up what used to be a normal, stretched stem to the point where the water didn't reach. Even the parts where water only splashed on occasionally started to grow white bumps like it wanted to grow roots there too. What I was wondering is if I was to train my plant horizontally right over the other (empty of course) net pot and set the tube to continuously drip on the stem which is resting on the hydroton, could I theoretically have two root bases on one plant?

Not sure how much two roots help anybody. Now I been listening to some fella on here who talks about recessing..which is if you get some tall and spindly or trying to growing roots in the wrong spot maybe...you just expand your hole and shove it down deeper in the medium. Supoosed to give it some nice roots and make it bushy. Been doing that on some of mine. I just got the areogarden thing with grow sponges so it purty easy. Sure aint hurt em none. Just thinking out loud here:)
