Twitter..........

I'll admit, at first, I really didn't see the utility. But, now...........I think this could become one of the most important web apps in a long, long time.

This could really change how we get our news. I can also see how new products/apps will HAVE to have a following on twitter. Web 2.0 - in real time. I never imagined this is what it would look like. But, fuck it.

I just opened an account. So, I don't have a following, nor do i expect to do any tweetin myself. I'll just use it to follow people I dig.

Any twits out there? Any grower tweets? Probably not, but I don't think it will take long for someone to get up the nerve.

I never heard of until today when the news said Obama and britney and some other peoples accounts were hacked.

twitter is a social networking site. originally it was used with cel phones. you can only post like 200 characters - so its supposed to be short.

what it has evolved into now is a bunch of people linking to stuff.

i'm a daytrader, and there are a lot of tweets about different news items or stocks. so i follow about 30 different people and they tweet about a stock, or a news item, or about an interesting blog post. so, i'm able to follow more, with less effort.

but, the news application aspect of twitter is in its infancy. political bloggers use twitter a lot to get the word out on an issue, or topic.

the point is - its real time. so, if you follow a lot of informed twitterers - then you kind of have a unique real time RSS feed into the world and what is going on on the web - right now.

That said identity theft is really easy. If you have a thousand dollars it's worth it, assuming the criminal gets away with it. But not gonna happen on twitte rlol
