Twistyman and other "old-timers", question about using males

Alright, I've got two plants that have fully dropped their balls (and, two who are growing out their girly hairs). Things are DRY up here, as harvest approaches and I got to watch DEA making sweeps this morning I got to thinking about these boys. I know I've read from some of those of you who've been at this game for a while saying that males DO have THC and they actually can be used. I need to know how.

How long do I let them go? How do I use the male plants?

I am in serious need of some medicine, I had an awful night last night because of the pain in my hips. They still hurt and I'm hobbling around wishing I could find SOMETHING, somewhere. (If you read about the raids in the Sequoia forests, you'll know what I'm talking about.)

First person who tells me to throw them out is getting a negative rep. Those who follow will also be dinged. :D

Actually, I wasn't. I couldn't sleep at all last night, been out for two weeks and my hips fucking HURT. Call me a cranky girl, you would be too I betcha.

In the meantime, while I continue to try to find more information, I spent about 20-30 minutes castrating each and every male. Took a hell of a lot longer than doing a pig, but there was no screaming or struggling. No blood, either. :twisted:

I'm kidding, of course, I really feel for you and I'm sorry you're in pain. I'm far from the experienced opinion you're looking for, but I can tell you that I made cannabutter, then brownies with my male this year and they definitely did the trick.

Supposedly male leaves don't have any significant difference in alkaloid content from those of a non-flowering female (or those without trichomes) and can be used the same way, for an extraction of your choice. I've also heard old-timers IRL talk about smoking the pollen straight and it being on par with low grade bud.

If you don't mind me asking, are there any big reasons why you don't get a med card?

I was in that same situation (minus the pain... sorry to hear that) last week. From all the information i gathered, the big fan leaves are pretty much a waste of time. but the smaller leaves closest to the top of the plant are most potent. Its nothing close to a good high, but its better than nothing. good luck!

Never messed with males myself, outside of breeding.
Left myself wide open for a shot.

Bad hips..I know that..3 hip replacements myself.. As for the males..you can make honey oil..or hash from what I've read..In all my years of growing I've only had 1..and I killed it.. apparently you can grow them out, but there are a whack of seeds..but honestly I really can't advise on this...sorry sea.. hip pain is hard to understand if you've not had it...hurts to move everything..... Get that hip fixed ....works great...

Thanks for the responses. These young men lost their balls this afternoon, but I saved them... I know, so weird.

I haven't gotten my card because I've been trying to get a job with the state (DOC) and I am very unsure how having a card might affect my chances. I'm getting desperate, though, especially when I can't sleep because of my hips.

So...! Maybe I can figure out a way to isolate these fellas. I am going to breed so I have a supply of seeds, but not these plants. It's been hard to find much information about how old they should be or anything because it's so common for folks to just say KEEL DEM BOYS! (Poor things.) Now that I'm pretty sure I've got two more that are dropping, and the remaining ones that haven't shown sex (of the bagseed plants) are so incredibly sorry looking I'm thinking I'll just bite the bullet and cook 'em up.

Do they have to be dried to cook? I had a boyfriend in high school who used to make cannabutter then make these OUTRAGEOUS fruit smoothies with it. Mmm... smmooottthhhhh....

That's what I thought, but thank you for confirming my suspicions. I mean, I'm sure it can be done with fresh plant material, but I also sort of think that if dried it's already a bit more concentrated.

If you want some help in the munchies dept.. Jimmyspaz's better 1/2 makes this AMAZING shortbeard , god I slept like 13 hours (usually 4-6)... give him a PM, I'm sure he'll help.. (that sort of guy)
