Twenty20 Mendocino beans from Great Lakes Genetics

Well I did what I normally don't do, pull the trigger before getting more info on a strain. So I wanted to snag some specific freebees and as I was looking at 20/20 I ended up picking up:

Smell of Success
Avenue of the Giants
Made of Honor

I've never had anything stretch more than 3x basically so I'm hoping the same applies with these strains as well. If these 3 are going to be a problem in a tent I'll have to try rigging up the light to reduce stretch. If it's just vigorous growth I'm in the tents constantly so keeping an eye on them to get them trained should work. I usually veg for 6 to 8 weeks in 5 gallon fabric to fully fill up a 4x4 with a max of 4 plants. If I can get away with 3 plants to fill a 4x4 GGT I can get 2 runs out of a pack. So long as I can get a full canopy I'll flip whenever it'll work and still get a decent return.

These 3 going to be ok in a 4x4? I'm not concerned with weight unless it's ridiculously low to make it not worth doing.

Anyone do these trains have any more info on growth pattern?

Smell of Success should be great indoors. It's listed as Average stretch and should have nice strong branching so should need minimal support.

Made of Honor might give you some headaches. It's listed as Above Average stretch and the grower notes say it's really bushy and doesn't ever seem to stop growing through flower. I'd be prepared to bend & pinch the hell out of it if it gets too close to the lights.

Ave of the Giants might be a bit of a handful in your tent too, though it says it tends to do great in a SCROG...but it may have a little bit weaker branching that need more trellis support.

If you want to read more, hit up the Twenty20 Mendocino website. They have great descriptions and pics of their gear posted online. Also, if you want something cool, hit their Etsy site and order one of the seed magazines for like $5 (comes with a bonus gift) and has phenomenal hi-res pics.

I have AOG going rn. Very nice tight node stacking, 11 leaf sets and nice thick stalks. Ladies are gonna be monsters outside where they can get some better nourishment. They are definitely robust. I topped, bent tops over and they don’t skip a beat. Excited to see what they produce.

My train wreck fems produced full blown men :wall:
uh oh, that's not comforting. I got a 6 pack from hembra and they're already giving me worries....they were small and pale to begin with.... I tried to sprout two and one took over a week only to grow extremely slowly and die a few days after shedding the seed shell, which I had to pull off myself after it got stuck halfway off for a few days. One cotyledon had a big chunk out of it, maybe from where I cracked the seed to get it off  The 2nd one took a few days to sprout and is a little bit slow, not an exceptional amount of vigor. I sprouted a 3rd while the 1st was still waiting to sprout but after the 2nd, and it sprouted in only a night or two, faster than the 2nd at least and has already outpaced it. I'd say I sprouted in early april (first time with seeds, definitely going earlier next year!)

I also got 2 fem freebies of SparkleFace (snowcaine x the spice) and 3 Hella Jelly (notorious THC x very cherry), both from twenty20, that I sprouted at the same time as the first two TW. They both sprouted quickly and look at least a week or two ahead of either of my surviving TW. Especially the SF, very very vigorous! I'm looking forward to seeing how well everything does and crossing my fingers for the trainwrecks

I downloaded the pdf of their catalog. A quick skim didn't help but taking a closer read of the grower comments helps. I'm thinking just doing the usual on them with the exception of the one that doesn't stop stretching in flower. That one is gonna get a bit more reds and we'll see what happens.

What strain(s) would you guys recommend in the current magazine? Photo or auto, I just want some dank LOL
Not sure. Haven’t flowered anything from Twenty20 yet. Can tell you for a photo the Avenue of Giants I have going is ridiculous and think it’s going to produce well.
I also have Durban Sunrise and Trizzlers goin (Both Autos) and they just started flowering.

Have you been able to smoke these yet?
yes. The SFG is a hard hitter and zips you right out. Too much and you grow rocket ships out of your back and blast off to outer space.

The Snowcaine was ok but not for me and the Durban came out weak. Just not potent enough for me.

Some SFG @ 6 weeks since flip. Some of my favorite smoke now.

Sparkleface at 81 days. This one is like the last of 3 clones that I took and it looks almost ready. Smells pretty pungent, nice tight nugs but it does require quite a bit of support. I also have a Girl Crush going that will be ready in about a week and that smells like an open container of glue and jet fuel....it'll burn your nose, lol.

The Avenue of the giants turned out to be a pretty robust and hearty plant overall. The one pheno flowered fast and early. Pic 9/25
1666525623981.pngDurban Sunrise has to be some of my favorite smoke. Very heady and warming. It is my goto for the am or when I need to get some stuff done.
1666526017296.jpegTrizzlers although I burnt the shit out of it… the plant still produced some good unique flavor when smoked.

5oz+ off each of the autos, The Avenue of the giants yielded well. My buddies came out better than mine and I would say a lb a plant easy.

Not a good start to my experience with this company. (TWENTY20).

I popped four trizzlers on 10/26.

One has for sure stalled, and it’s a FUNNY looking mutant.

The others are on their 4 or 5 set of leaves now. And this one hasn’t grown for a few days.

When I contacted the company, AMY said she “didn’t see the issue, but would send me ONE seed.”

On top of telling me that the one plant in question, looked to be in her words “THRIVING.”

LMAO. Does this breeder not test their products?

OR do the people working there just NOT have a clue???9BF4BF1D-ECDC-46B1-AB33-1563600DB400.jpegFFAF7C15-8EBA-458C-8BC0-B8D344767FE3.jpeg

Shit happens. Crying over a seed lol
No, I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Look, I am simply posting my experience in order for others to determine on their own.

& For your information, it was the companies condescending response that pissed me off.

Who is growing only one seed? Like really?

HOLD ON! Let me set my entire grow tent up for their single replacement seed, LOL!

That’s what’s really funny.

Not even worth my time.
