I don't know if anybody has noticed that "the Odd Couple" is being remade. That's a tough act to follow.
Yes very tough and with the new cast I doubt very much it will be
as great as the original series. Try recreating Gilligans Island or Get Smart. I don't think so!

man i fucking love MEtv

its a channel that plays shows from the 60s and 70s like the streets of San Francisco n shit idk why but old shows like that are relaxing and fun to see how it wasnt that long ago we where using pay phones instead of a smart phone and listened to vinyl
Shit I still spin vinyl due to vinyl having superior dynamics vs CD , I miss the pay phone deal too , it was nice where you didn't have to answer a phone no matter where you are & concentrate on what ya had going on .

That's Awesome where other members are doing it cause I was feeling like a cheapskate at 1st, were watching The Big Valley right now on Me Tv , I was up early enough this morning to watch Land of The Lost , seeing the Cheesy claymation in the background was alot of fun :)

I try n explain to my grandkids how movies used to be where actors didn't stand in front of green screens & backgrounds were added later on & fake , they had a hard time believing the John Wayne western we were watching really had 500 people in the background & weren't CGI .

I just wish there was a guide like with cable where you can see the days entire line up .
Since discovering ME tv & all the other free channels were positive were getting rid of cable at our house in the city , we'll be moving to our house in the country next month & I'll be checking to see if we get ME tv & other free channels out in the sticks ,if so I'm gonna be taking whiteb's advice & getting long range digi antennas & having the satellite shut off , at over $300 a month for both homes I'll be saving all most $4,000 a year ,that's alot of damm money for television .

I never woulda dreamed this many members knew about antenna channels seeing it's such an old technology , seeing other members favorite show links has been pretty awesome as well .

I haven't really seen it but I respect Thomas Lennon and a lot of the supporting cast. There are ensemble opportunities. It's on my DVR, I hope it does ok.

Geez, who was the supporting cast for the original? I can picture Murray. Was Jerry Stiller in there? iMDB to the rescue. No, no Stiller. In fact Al Molinaro was the only one I recognized. The new cast had Dave Whathisface from Kids In THe Hall and the actor that played Bunk in The Wire.

All in all, I think it will fail, but It might not suck.

I've watched 2 episodes of the new Odd Couple & Matt Perry is excellent as Oscar , the dick they picked for Felix sucks bad & isn't nowhere near the actor needed for that role , he's got Felix's sinus problem all wrong where the sounds he makes aren't funny , with the old Felix that sound he made " ung ung ung " was funny as hell .

David Shwimmer from Friends woulda played a perfect Felix imo .

That's too bad. But you cannot out-Randall Tony Randall. He was amazing. I hope Lennon finds his own groove.

It seems like a pretty good show to use a lot of talented comics in cameos. Are they reusing story premises?

Yup out doing Tony Randal is a tough one that's why I thought of David Shwimmer , he plays a good sissy type or educated type , they kinda follow the old story lines where Oscar is a sports writer but he writes books n shit instead of a column in a paper , Felix is still a photographer but he only takes pictures of fast food for magazine dad's & billboards .

If they coulda got the whole sinus bit right that Felix used to do it would make him alot better for us who remember the original , I think the show's good enough for multiple seasons .

Good morning, Mr. Phelps.
  • Your mission Jim, should you choose/decide to accept it, ...
  • As always, should you or any of your I.M. Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This tape/disc will self-destruct in five seconds.
  • Good luck, Jim.
