Turning Buds into QWISO. Should I Grind Them?

Well, I've got an OZ or two of some premature buds and some bigger colas with a touch of PM I want to turn into QWISO (quick wash iso hash.) I know how to make QWISO and have done so with trim in the past.

I just was wondering if someone with QWISO experience can tell me what to do if I am using just the flowers, no trim. Should I grind 'em, break it up by hand, run whole nugs, etc etc....??? I figured grinding would be easiest but might degrade my final product. I do not want to make BHO or bubble with this so for the sake of staying on topic, please don't ask or mention.

Anyways, thanks for the help guys.

You will get more of a lesser product, and a darker product, grinding it up, with the same rinse length.

I prefer to either rough/coarse grind it, or break it into small little chunks (like you are taking the seeds out), then do the rinse in a very fine mesh stainless steel strainer/drainer thing I found at a garage sale that is perfect.

For 1 oz. use about half the volume of the plant material, pour IPA over bud into bowl, then dunk it a couple times till the solution has a nice honey-gold color (should take you no longer than 30 seconds exposure to IPA), this is the first rinse (better potency/flavor, but less product), and do a second rinse, letting the material soak for a while.

The lighter stuff (once evaporated off the solvent) save for pipes, straight hash hits, etc., the darker stuff, dole out, or use it to enhance your fave rolled delight!!!!

One could even use the darker stuff for cooking if they felt so inclined.

Water curing the bud before hand will also remove most of the chlorophyll and other stuff you don't want to absorb out of the plant. One may wish to look into that if growing for making extracts, as it will allow you to soak longer, and get maximum quality and maximum product, no need for a second rinse, because the first you can let it sit for a couple days in the solvent with no big change in potency, but yield will be maximum.

Well, its been a few more rounds of QWISO since I posted this a couple months ago; and I figured I'd post a couple pics of this recent batch of Cherry AK47 full melt for your viewing pleasure. Yum, yum, yum....:weed:

I used 3 oz of sugar coated trim and popcorn buds and yielded about 7 grams from each wash. The first wash is simply amazing and has been known to reduce grown men to drooling children. If you question the quality of QWISO, try it sometime. For someone who doesn't have $400 lying around to buy a set of bubblebags, or some PM infected herbs, this is a great option worth looking into.

have to post this, my ak47 looks almost identical to yours thought it was kinda cool. It also has a bit of a cherry smell aswell. Maybe a little different lighting but same exact bud structure IMO. (to get technical the photo uploaded side ways so check it out sideways to see the original photo angle)

I can see why, that stuff looks awesome.

How many plants is 3 oz of trim would you say? I know it depends on the size of your plants, but just say they are of decent indoor size and potency. Just wondering did you use 3 oz per wash or 3 oz for the two washes?
