Rather than last year's thread I made, I thought I'd compromise. Let's talk about what dishes us vegans and vegetarians can make, those you eat or have no problem eating. No bashing from my side and nothing dead from yours, that includes pics.

I'll go first. I had a taste demo at Trader Joe's of a delicious cranberry sauce which added pomegranate and cloves. I'm going to make my own version like that this year.

Quorn when chopped and fried is fairly close to chicken/turkey, Id take that along with the rest of the "normal" meal.

Bear,
If you must. But vegan is better. I realize lots of people can't fathom how you make vegan. See, even raw veggies need ranch to some for dip.

Post a recipe imo.

I looked for "vegan nigiri sushi" and found a recipe that has many of the difficulties i associate with vegan eating. Some ingredients are difficult to duplicate or even reasonably approximate.

Here's the link, because imo the recipe would add some clutter. But here's the finished sushi ... :( cn

Hmmm well while I have never prepared a dish without flesh I am quite the cook. Let me see if I can come down a few notches and remember some good ones. I can throw paleo/primal all day long but vegans another story. It's scary some of the things that has animal products in them that are marketed as vegan.

Post a recipe imo.
Vegan Surprise 2 cups of 7 day old sweaty workout socks (you know they're ready when stiff) 1 cup vinegar Combine ingredients and microwave for 5 minutes and that's it. Be sure to tell everyone it taste just like turkey and enjoy the surprised looks on their face when they try.

Harrekin,
You tried quorn? Never tried it myself. I've been curious about it though.
Just because one enjoys flesh doesn't mean you need to eat it every dinner ;)

Its RIDICULOUSLY close to chicken bar slight flavour/texture differences, clever but simple seasoning can make it virtually identical tho.

They do one faux beef mince too and for a Spag-Bol, lasagne, etc its also basically the same thing.

Harrekin,
I'll check into how hard it is to make from scratch.

Anyway, for desert I'm making pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes topped with pastry cream.

I make most things from scratch but I wouldn't have a clue how to make that, I buy it pre chopped in a bag or in block. They do tomato and herb sausages too...hungry now.

That's one thing I never understand. And I'm not turning this into a debate. But if one chooses to avoid meat for what ever their personal reason. Why on earth would they buy weird processed garbage designed into fooling you that your eating meat. Seems to defeat the point.

I am equally confused by women who hate men but date women who dress and act like men.

Bah only one Quorn product is vegan. Although there are tons of vegan binders, it uses album, the protein in eggs. Only their lame new vegan burger is vegan and I read it tastes like shit! Bah, oh well. It's a fungus like Merimite/Vegemite.

Demonic,
It's just a name. I make veggie patties out of various beans like chickpeas. Sausage spiced black eyed peas crumbles. I wash the bran and starch off ground whole wheat to make nearly 100% protein called seitan. My turkey is chickpea flour&tofu.
