Could you provide more info and an 80 watt heater? That’s 275 btu’s, less than three candles :(.
That all the info ive got its a 2ft long and 80w, recommended for use in lofts, sheds and green house to stop frost build up.. read that can use in grow tent just wanted to kno if it was safe and anyone else has used one before. Ive just checkd my temps just as the lights come on and its slightly warmer than yesterday so happy with that but then again it could be outdoor temps affecting it..

Outdoor temps are a huge factor and as I said an 80 Watt heater won’t do anything, perhaps it was 800?

Its still cold outside especially in the mornings! Nope pretty sure its 80w, Oh well aslong it keeps my temps up a couple degrees and above the danger zone im happy. Ive got it in between my grow bags when i put my hand next to it i can feel heat coming off aslong as my roots arnt freezing then all is good

If your room drops below 60 it will affect growth I think but the plants will still be fine. I use a 1000 w heater to maintain 65 with lights out and it stays below 85 when lights are on with ventilation.

Ive seen a little plug in 400w heater the other day and it gives off a decent amount of heat it has a build in timer, stat, and adjustable settings.. thinking about chucking that in too as it has been hiting the 60mark early morning with it being too cold!

Those types of tubular heaters are not going to give you much rise in temperature. They're basically used to prevent pipes from freezing or in small greenhouses when hung above plants to prevent freezing in the winter. They will provide some heat but if the outside temperatures are too cold they won't keep the inside of the tent very warm.

I have my tent in an unheated garage and the temps can get pretty low. Too low for plants to grow very well. I use one of these oil filled heaters inside the tent when it gets too cold.

You don't want anything with an exposed element. These heaters don't have any exposed elements and only get warm to the touch so they can't burn anything.
