Gastanker, this is the Aurora dome I experimented with. I encased the aurora in clear, and then coiled it to the dome. The colors didnt look like what I thought they were. Back to the drawing board?

Uhoh, Californicator, the matching dome you been eyeballing sold.................... Maybe we can re-make it later with an all-black ground joint, instead of the clear. ;)

Toss some frit on the top and I'd be happy with it. I guess ideally the color would be a bit brighter/lighter - I liked the pinkish purple tones of that other Aurora dome and the blues of that other one. But I can't be too picky when ordering a custom piece so you be the judge on whether you want to redo it.

Systemh; as requested, here's the 18mm Martini Slide...... I dont have any more of this tube left, either! 18mm Female --> 14mm male adapters are easy though! :)

That's whats fun with Aurora. Every time you do something different with it, it changes color. :-) I'll make a bunch of domes and slides up with Aurora, and you can just choose if you like one! Xtra Blingy and probably with a bunch of millis or uranium millis on them.

martini slide?

Could one make a dome, thats shaped outwards like an actual martini? With a little olive? That would be cool !

OH! and found your dish in my mail last night, awesome! A lot bigger than I thought it would be, I think it's the largest dish I have now! & Sweet dome by the way!

Thanks man! Ultra fast shipping ;D

Yup! I made the martini slide a while back. I guess its not really martini shaped, more like ice pinch slide, but similar. :-) Its been here for a few months, at least. Never really took it to any stores.

I think a dome with a *true* martini shape would probably be a little air-y for the hit.......

I'm glad your dish/dome got there. :) Thanks!

Yeah thats true, but if the nail could be seated low enough, about right where the bowl shape of the martini starts coming out - it could be done!

Sounds technical as hell though.

I really love that slide Kitty, I'm going to think it over in my head for the day, mostly about it being 18mm and buying the adapter from you. It's in no way a big deal or anything, just want to think about it a bit!
Beautiful slide though, it's seriously talking to me! :joint:

Was bound to happen. I have been preparing myself for just having to get a custom one to match the errl rig you make me when you get that skill set down. Slime and onyx wig wag down stem, medallion mouth piece to match...

4ish weeks and my harvest begins.

No doubt! Congrats on that :peace:

RK, love the dish... you should make more, perhaps with some work in the middle? I think other folks would like it too.. i really like how easy it is working oil on a dish with the little bump in the middle!

RK~

I made my first "wag ball", check it. I was pretty stoked, after watching someone do it this is the first one I did. What should I turn it into? I was thinking a dish? I actually made 4 each with different colors.

Thanks! Glad they made it there safe. :-) I plan to make more with the divit in the middle, the "moat of oil" is way easier to scrape than a regular dish.

Looks like I should mail you some vac stack tubing. :) First, nice balls! For drawing on lines and not using prefab'd tubing, the lines are where they should be for the most part. You'll find that working vac stack tubing vs doing the balls you have now are *totally* different, because of the difference in thickness and color saturation. The mostly clear ones are a little weird to work and not even to begin with because the lines were drawn on in areas rather than encased with the same thickness throughout.

You'll notice the first pic, you can see the color through the ball. That is bad. That means the color lines were pulled too thin or it isnt saturated enough. A color rball should not be translucent at all, if it is, its too thin. (Then again, this is more for vac stacks, and you have clear practice line balls, but ya know).......

So, what to make with them?

--> You could make a spoon and have the terminations on either side of the spoon body

--> You could make a dish with the work in the middle, but that rball is probably about 3x larger than you'd want to make a dish out of (TINY balls for dishes!). But rather than the work being centered in the center of the dish, the ball could BE the dish and have the lines work their way all around.

--> You could connect the balls together, and make a 4-ball sherlock or something. Or a mini oil rig even (!!). Practicing connecting rballs together is something that I need to do, too. Its not that its hard, but cant mess up the lines!

#1 rule when making rballs is to use the marver as LITTLE as possible. Marvers mash things which makes lines crooked.

Cant wait to see what ya made!

Gastanker: Here's two Aurora pieces, 14mm slide and an 18mm dome. I wanted to see what your thoughts were on the color/design for your order.

And a random oil dome with the same lime green lip for a customer out west........

** ^^^ In this picture, the glass is still 1000(f). The colors turn to muddy dark colors when glass is hot. So its not really the right color representation, it pops more. :-)

Love the slide - just the colors I was looking for. I like the shape and design of the first clear/aurora dome more than this one though - although I like the colors of this dome a bit more.

I'd be happy with this slide and the previous dome if you don't feel like making more for me to pick from. Can you add a tiny bit of frit after the fact? Maybe dab some on the top of both of them so they blend with the rest of my gear?
