He is definitely going to be cracking down and doesn't care what anyone thinks. Last week he told California border patrol agents to continue to charge people for any amount even though the state legalized. I think he is going to go after banking and the big player in the legal states right now and show that he has seized enough money to then go after some of the smaller people after that. 3 more years of this shit....

I don't thinks so.... too many people (Repubes too) are making a living off weed. If he does interfere it will cause a shit storm and Sessions will be the bad guy.
People said there were too many legal immigrants (daca, tps, etc) to be deported, but trump is going to do it anyway. They just don't care. They have UNLIMITED resources to go after whatever crimes they want.

But going after cannabis won't take a lot. They will just raid well known grow facilities and dispensaries, seizing property and arresting workers. Shock and awe.

They don't care what CO or CA or any other legal state thinks.

I guess we'll see. This ain't like CA when the dispensaries were raided. They be fucking with states tax revenue and probably won't get help from local LE. Senators and congressman from legal states will be raising hell along with plenty of state lawsuits. With the new tax structure I don't see how they can afford this nonsense.

Can the legal states sue the federal govt?

Can the legal states just choose to not be part of the United states?

I'm not American but its The united states of America. By the title it means a state can just un-unite...
It doesn't seem like the federal govt does to much anyways, they cant even give everyone free to end user health care.

The Keebler elf klansman needs to go back to his fiber glass tree and fade into obscurity. He's an ungodly punch line and nothing more. And take Emperor Hirocheeto with him.

our civil war set the precedence that federal law supersedes state law. our civil war also set the precedence that seceding from the union is not going to be allowed.

we need his office address and phone and bombard him with disapproval. Snail Mail is said to really get their attention as one letter is supposed to represent hundreds of people

They can however it would be a lost cause since Federal Law trumps state laws and the Federal law is clear. No one is going to leave the US over weed Our best hope is that the individual US Attorneys don't proceed with cases and Trump along with his cronies is ousted so that some sanity returns to the Federal government.

Uhmmm, yes, and, no.

The states can sue the federal government and have done it countless times. Sometimes they win. It's not a hopeless pursuit. It all comes down to the constitution; some rights are held to be federal and some state. It just depends on the issue. With respect to federal controlled substances act, it is entirely a federal issue. The states can't successfully challenge the supremacy of the federal gov't when it comes to controlling drugs; they have tried and lost

As for secession, there is no clause in the constitution allowing a state to gracefully leave the union. There is no "Texit" clause. It has been, and remains, an act of violence and war. The last time it was tried, it was one the worlds bloodiest and most costly Civil Wars. Nobody wants to see that again.

Well, I'm sure Putin would love it. But no american does.

congress still controls the budget. they have prevented the justice department from using federal money for enforcement against legal states and can do it again. cutting the justice department budget would help reduce the cost of the trump tax cut as well.congressmen in legal states should push for this and any other road block they can throw up.trump and the republican party will be blamed for this and a news poll in nevada found that 73% of the people here think we should oppose federal law in this matter. that poll was conducted by a Sinclair owned news outlet. ( definitely not a progressive backed poll ) even our republican governor.attorney general and congressman oppose this.even the liquor industry supports it.(under nevada law they are the middle man between commercial growers and dispensaries) time to bring back an old tradition involving the use of hot tar and bird feathers to make sessions a new outfit
