trouble making babies

i soak the seed sin water then plant them when they have a niece tap root. tap root down into rock wool starter cube. please dont say its the algae because it just spread 2 days ago and the 4 thc bombs are growing but are a little stretchy and i dont know why because they have a bunch f t5 right above them

i thought the title would draw more ppl

what kind of water?
what is the pH? ppm? nutes?

Put some opaque film over the rockwool and it will help with the growth on top of the cubes. The lack of light ought to kill the funk.

I know you say not to mention the algae, but if it has turned green like it is on top then it is already too late and you are probably getting root rot. the problem with your rockwool happened probably a couple weeks ago before you could see it and 4 days ago when you saw the green it was too late (to be honest i have not seen a algae problem that bad). my suggestion is to get fresh rockwool, and DONT let any light get to the water or the rockwool or else you are not going to get any success.

do you think i shouldnt soak the rockwool cubes when i plant seed?? i leave them wet with a little water in the tray. im afraid of them drying.

i use tap water ph to 6.3 after they get going i put 250 ppm . the thing that gets me is that bagseed will take right off but the expensive seeds give me a hard time. maybe it is too wet.

The RW needs a presoak to balance the pH. Soak prior to putting seed/plant with 1/2 nute solution, pH'ed to 5.5 or so.
6.3pH is a little high try going 5.5 to 6.0 pH

Something is contaminated with those algae spores.
You need to completely flush that system and get fresh materials in there.

i do soak rw in 5-5.5 then the added nutes are 6.3. all i have to do is cover up the algae and it will go away. can also spray with peroxide. the algae is living on top of the cubes and again the 4 thc bombs are standing and i ahad a whole crop like this. it is in my grow journal in my sig. when i put the starter cubes into the big cubes they got algae as well. but i sprayed with peroxide and now the foliage is thick enough it doesnt grow back. i really wish i had a pic with no algae so i could get this figured out. i guess the next batch i will try not to let any water sit in bottom and hope the seedlings dont dry.

You are basically doing it all wrong.

The rockwool should be soaked in ph adjusted water, shake out excess water then put in seedling.
Then put the rockwool cube in a covered germination tray - DO NOT PUT ANY WATER IN THE TRAY!!
When the rockwool starts to dry out - dip just the bottom of the cube in ph adjusted water for one or two seconds.

You need no nutrients until the plants get much larger - a couple of weeks.

When the roots break thru put them in your growing environment.

id say a leprachaun is hiding in your grow and has bad green diarhea.....?.....what?

yeah. i think they are too wet. probablly rotting them in the rockwool. its a shame that i wasted my first 30 thcb seeds lol. i have 10 more that im going to do pretty close to your method. no lid though. i will check them several times a day and make sure they r moist. but no water in the tray to keep them waterlogged

very close. yet my thcb are stretching a bit. the algae growth is proportionate to the strength of light.

Have you tried Hygrozyme?
I would give it a try, I use it regularly and it works.

......I 'd really consider following this with the rest of your seed. And a dome helps keep the RH up without drying the rw so fast. What kind of temps are your res h2o?
I 'd say, if you can salvage any of those to flush them real good with your peroxide mix(I'd use like Cannazyme or similar), let dry out a bit and get back in the tray and never put solution directly into the tray but dip the corner of the rw in your solution...... If you going to keep them in rw I would also recommend you to get some kind of covers for the tops of the cubes, or even make them out of panda film or garbage bags. Most anything exposed to light that is damp/wet is gonna grow sh*t, and your best off to just keep any of it from being able to start. Key word here is "Prevention"---hahah..

Yeah, Iam following a couple of thcb grows.... Even the real nice ones I've seen stretch. My mother comes down today as this isn't going to work for me. The buds are fair sized, just not enough to justify all the stem......imo. I cant even get a good pic of the few I have in 12/12 right now because the room is flooded with ak47, which has already proven itself for me<---I just cant get over the strong odor, and I was warned. But the thcb stretched when growing with the ak47 and I had to bend over the tops and even just said f it and cut one off. So the ak is right next to it with pop can size buds..........same system.

So what do you go to from the small rw cubes? Do you have good ventilation in there?

Great Luck to you! But dont just 'accept' the fact that algy is growing; do whatever you have to to get rid of it. Period

just fucking up my seeds. what i really want to know is whether the clones i take from the thcbomb mommies will they stretch? i will clone veg for 10-12 inches and then flower. the one thcbomb that i have is big and stalky in my aero tub . you can also see this in my signature link. i took two clones from it and started flower yesterday. i hope it is a girl then i will fill a 4x4 foot tray with them and we will see what is up with thcb. lol

okay......gotcha!
The thcb cloned faster than anything else I was cloning at the time, which for some reason makes me think under 6-7 days and I had roots out. You dont see them as fast in the rw, obviously. Yes, once they root they will do as the mother did under the same circumstances as with any clone. Take BIG cuttings, go 12/12 as soon as you can and no "grow" nutes other than then N you get out of your micro, also your cal-mag if you use/need it......
I need to go check out your other thread to see what's up....still really dont even know what system/method your doing, haha, and why the rw......and something about aero(aero and rw dont mix, IMO). Right now I am in the middle of filling a GH AF20 w/clones---still trying to get caught up......I 'll try to spend some time on here tonight when I get back....

yeah. lol i have alot of stuff going on. i created an aero tug with 40 2inch sites. you can see 4 thcb that i had in it. then had leak and roots dried. i culled them down to one bushy one. i cloned two from it and got roots and put in flwr yesterday. praying that they female. i put rw starters in the 2 inch net cups. keeps water in and holds the plants. pretty cool actually . have had 100% clones with the tub even before improvements. <if you dont count a clone that i didnt cut right and let dry out.>

That is a pretty sweet tub you have there! It's just like my cloner except I use the neoprene collars and soon as they have roots they go to 3" nets of hydroton and into a aero/nft system. I am just really surprized that you dont have issues with the spray in there keeping the rw soaked. So that's great!
So does that spray 24/7?, or what is the schedule?
