I'm thinkin about buying one or maybe building my own. Any suggestions as to which ones work the best? Dont want a machine that I still have to hand trim after using.

Personally I have never tried them, but mostly what I have read, they get gummed up and aren't really too useful since you're always stopping to un-gum them.

not only that but it was the only time my weed ever smelled like wet grass. im picky and after putting so much time and effort into growing a beautiful plant with trich covered buds tossing them into a machine was murder.

Your saying the trimmer made your buds smell like grass? Did it go away after drying? What model trimpro?

I got a big outdoor crop this year and its almost depressing thinking about having to trim it all.....

Anyone got any good news?

I feel ya! I also have a huge harvest coming up and am interested in auto trimmers. I have arthritis in my thumb joint and trimming gets really painful after a while. People say they wreck your buds but I think with the hand crank type (like trim pro unplugged or spinpro) you have more control - atleast more control than over a bunch of people at your house doing it with you. If i got one, I would only use it for the medium to small buds and hand trim the large colas. I have had a really hard time getting feedback on these - i think they are shuned. Nice to see someone else considering same thing.

i am right there with ya. and was just posting on another thread about how some peeps dry their plants before they trim. they say that the dried buds dont gum up the scissors as bad. maybe that is the key to these trimmers. i am going to try that this harvest to see if it helps to foolproof the chlorophyll taste. still dunno if i am going to take the plunge into the expense of a trimmer. i will be trimming nothing but main colas in a couple months. and starting a rotation. so hopefully the lighter and easier to trim load will not be as bad as 20 four month old plants all at once.

If you are trimming the buds for sale i wouldnt use a trimming machine. Havent seen one yet that didnt either need had trimming after use or just plain fucked buds up. Unless you have hundreds of outdoor plants and cant fund a trimming crew I wouldnt use one.

ive never personally owned one but have seen them in action plenty of times...which is why i still dont own one. these are straight up facts: 1 they dont get it all and half the time they leave half the stems in the buds which leaves a stick in ur bud every one it misses on. 2 they gum up about 2 z's in to it and if ur hands are sore from trimming with fiskers....just wait till u un-gum an auto trimmer 5 thousand times. u will beg for ur fiskers back..trust me. 3 way over priced. i wouldnt pay 50 buck for one of those pieces of shit and ive seen them for as much as 600$. needle nose fiskers are 12$ at wal-mart and they will last for a few years. auto trimmers, u are lucky to run a pound through it before u are ordering a new tumbler or tenssion spring. dont buy one dude...save ur money. ya just gotta bite the bullet and trim ur ladies up properly. we all know what we are getting in to when we plant our ladies...just dont make sence to try and cheat on the final phase...good luck

lol. just as i was hitting confirm on the trimmer i just bought this email came in. fortunately... i still want it. it was $140 bucks to my door for a 16" twisted trimmer. and they have thin flat blades now. that must be easier to clean than a round metal wire. i do worry about the parts wearing out though. i will just have to be careful.

They love them to death and post pics and name the bitches and then want to dump that bud in a machine?

I don't care how "pretty" the buds look.

I grow my weed to smoke, not to look at.

I love my Spin Pro trimmer.

It's quick, easy, produces no waste, and cleans up easily.

i can tell you without a doubt that in my area.... nothing comes through here that hasnt been through a trimmer. if you want bud that still has any sort of crystal structure on the outside you need to grow it yourself. and me personally... i have a lot to do in a short amount of time.

its not about love or names. its about efficiency and profits. and having an understanding that i really dont care to be trimming for 48 to 72 hours non stop. sure i can walk from here to seattle. it would be much better for my health. by why do that when i can drive. i guess that means i must be a lazy bastard. meh.

IC3M4L3-- Awsome fucking quote about death man right onn

As far as auto trimmers go, its been stated plenty and the dude already bought one.. but trimming to me is the favorite part.. get some budds togeather listen to music and really get to see and enjoy every bud you created.. having a machine have all the fun seems pointless... If they had auto scratch ticket scratchers would you use one too, or would you rather enjoy the experience.. call me old fashion, because i am.
