Trimming fan leaves?

hey everyone. Started my girls from seed and they are about 4 weeks in veg. Got some big fan leaves that are blocking light to new shoots under big fans that are already 1.5-2 inch tall with a couple sets of leaves. My question is should i trim a couple of the lower fans to allow light to new shoots? Any advice/opinions are appreciated

At 4 weeks you won't be doing any damage taking a few leaves off. How long are you going to be vegging for?

Well they are all going outside so i will be vegging til spring. Will probably top them in a couple weeks to get them to bush out and produce new shoots for clones. Here is a few pics of the ladies from a few days ago

wow you are both very reputable RIU members. While Ive got your attention Ive also had some discoloration and curling and somebody mentioned over watering.Do u know what this would be due 2?I posted a different thread about this that only had 1 response and wasnt very detailed so if you guys could give me your thoughts i would appreciate it.

*edit - didn't read the post properly. Doh!

Yeah, if you need to in order to aid training, then go for it. Use a new razor blade and the stress will be minimal imo.

Well if it's your first time growing or even your second then it's reasonable to think you may be over watering. Just remember that your plant doesn't need tons of water when it's young. I don't stick to any type of watering schedule with my plants because I understand the signs of them needing water. Leaves will lose a bit of their firmness and may droop a little bit if you let them go a little too long without water but it's easier for a plant to come back from that than it is for a plant to come back from over watering. Really try to pay attention to that top layer of soil. If it's not completely dry then you probably don't need to water.

There's a lot of threads here about watering. Give them a look and you'll be squared away in no time. Keep it green. Peace.

over watering is due 2 watering too often and the lower leaves will yellow a bit but without a pic it is hard to tell, you might just need to feed them. In order to solve this issue a few things are needed 1 most helpful pics. 2 what soil your using, what nutes, what lights wht are temps??? answer this and all will be revealed

I'm actually using CIL vegetable soil and havent given it any nutes due to this, temp is pretty steady at 78 degrees, humidity is at 50% and I'm using two 4 foot t8 fluorescent bulb fixtures with 1 warm 3000k bulb and 1 cool 6500k bulb in each fixture.here are some pics.

I've actually been watering my small plants from underneath. I have a load of seedlings in a plastic box and I pour in half an inch or so. They love it! This way they take up what they need.

Thanks for the input, thats interesting.does all the water get used,do u soak up excess water or do you just leave remaining water?

Your soil looks to need more aeration in it, when uplant put in some perlite if using same mix.....try to leave the fans on. First pics look like a couple of leaves are getting too hot, hence the edge curl upwards....overall looks OK.

Thanks SurfdOut.That Makes sense because 1 plant had a lil growth spurt overnight and got close to the light,I raised the light as soon as i noticed but i guess the damage was done. I will add perlite next time if i use the same soil but i think next time im going to go to a hydro store and get something similar to fox farm {which seems to be an overall favourite) because nowhere close to me carries it.Also I will keep fan leaves on since shoots underneath seem to be growing just fine anyways. Thanks again
