Trimming during flowering?

ok ive got one plant under about 100w with a fan and all that. Its been flowering for about 2-3 weeks, its def female and has started to bud. BUT, since im using CFLs (i know) would it hurt or be beneficial to the plant to trim the fan leaves so the bud sites at the cola et all the light. Ive saw a grower i know do it, but ive also heard that the fan leaves create the sugars. And can i do it during flowering or is it too late??? Please help guys, may some experts...

We've all got leaves in the way, blocking buds . . . I use to trash 'em all, but didn't this grow and you know what? Where I removed the few I did this time, in an effort to spread the light to lower buds, the buds where I removed the leave stopped growing. In EVERY instance. I've been trying to bend them out of the way until they deteriorate to the point of falling off with the slightest tug.
So yes, you can cut those leaves away, but some of your buds'll stop getting bigger. On RIU this is a no-no?

i trimmed alot of my fan leaves off, and water leaves, that way all the energy is used to produce the buds, and not wasting time using nutrients to go through the huge fan leaves, and whatnot....since i've trimmed them off, i've gotten more bud sites, and my buds are getting denser...oh yeah by the way im usuing CFL's as well....just check out my gallery..

can i do it during flowering?

I have been....and it hasn't shown any negative results on my plant yet...so whatever works...just try it out...every plant is different.

well, trimmed her up, ill let yall know how this goes... any ideas for what to do with the trimmings?

mine alone. those big fans are where all the work happens. like fishy said you can cut them off but the plant will suffer.

if they have resin on them, i just smoke em, but if not...in the trash they go....

I'd smoke 'em if I needed to, highest leaves first.

between crops i have resorted to my trimmings......and they work jussssst fine.

yeah i finally have them all dried, and tried my clippings today. Not the best or strongest high, mind u i clipped these one week into flower tho! Still does the trick till my buddies are done.
