Trim dead part of leave or cut the whole thing?

Hi everyone.

ive never grown a plant in my life so i dont what the general procedure here is but i had some really nasty nute burn over the last week (I of course thought it was a def rather than burn and made the situation worse).

The bottom fan leaves are quite yellow and are burned on the ends and becoming brittle and dying slowly... i really dont think theres any chance of them turning, however there is clearly still some clorophyl in the leaves.

Im wondering whether I should trim off the dead part or just cut the whole thing. If the leaf looks like its gonna die does that mean it is using more energy than giving and I should just cut the whole thing off? If so do i do it at the stem or at the leaf? Should I leave a little stump if i cut the whole thing or get it as close to the stem as possible?

Thanks.

take off the whole leaf maybe they are too close to the lights avoid putting water or any chems directly on the plant check your soil is it moist

nah its definitely nute burn. Temps are 85 (bit high but reasonable) and its only the bottom leaves that were burned up. I thought it was a def so i upped the nutes (first time doing this stuff) and the situation became life threatening so i flushed and have left it without nutes for the last 2 days. Much of the color has returned to the plant but the bottom leaves are too far gone to come back. wont leaving a stub leave a bud site?

DWC btw...
