Triggering a plant to become hermie?

OK I know this sounds sort of stupid but I'm wondering if you can cause a MALE to become male and female as it happens with females so I'm thinking why not?

I need to know this because if I have two males in my grow then I will try to hermie them if possible to produce seeds and buds.

I'm hoping it's possible but I'll just do some more research whilst I wait for some more replies.

it's possible, but improbable.
Yeah, just read another thread on RIU and it is really rare for a male to hermie and that is because only females can change their genetic make up? Anyway, so a one guy said that he had a few male hermies but you have to have lots of males to make it possible.

Males will Hermie but not as common. I think I read that a male Hermie will throw male/ female seeds where as a female hemie will throw female seeds.

It makes sense as the female is creating pollen which is usually done by a male but if a male makes pollen it's just plain pollen from a male creating regular seeds.

I want seeds but at the same time I want buds, I would not mind if I had all seeds either because that just means I can trade in seeds for cash or for salvia cuttings etc.

I found this today on one of my auto's. Came from FEM bean
. You do not want to use a hermi for seed production. Offspring will have hermi tendencies and most likely be a dominant trait.

which would actually be better if you wanted to breed true male to female F1's.
These F1's are the one's we work and isolate pheno's on. Find your ideal bitch, take cuttings and self her with a cutting for fem beans to preserve her. Then take the cuts and veg out to size and pollinate with F1 male. sibling or foe, doesn't matter. Guaranteed DANK!

when you say self induced, you mean by the means of the grower, yes? A female that turns hermi due to stress in environment or other grower error is not a fem to use. The hermi trait that was caused by stress, for whatever reason, carries over to offspring.
A female that has been treated chemically will stress but pollen collected and used will carry a feminized trait.

stable means what?

Stable means if you have run it under good or un optimal conditions it has not hermied. If you start turning the light on for two hours in the dark period almost any stable strain will pop nanners. This does not mean it is genetic.
