Tried a New Method of Drying

For me, sometimes it's hard to get just the right amout of moisture after the hanging period. Sometimes life gets in the way of getting to them in just the perfect time. Buds are crispy on the outside, and stems have a slight snap but not super dry, and usually that is straightened out fine in the jars as we know during the 30 day cure. My last turn was a little more dry than I liked, and it really bugged me. I'm a bit anal with my grow as I'm a legal caregiver.

So......I took down all my hanging buds, still on the stems, and put them in 5 gallon buckets sealed up for 24 hrs or until I could get to them. It worked perfect! All the buds absorbed the very small amount of moisture from the stems they were on, and the moisture content in them was perfect and was even all the way around for jarring. I had to open them much less often to let out the chlorophil (that spelling is so far off its sad, sorry) and the end result was much better.

This will be my new process. It takes me days to get to pull them down and finish trimmed, and now I don't have to worry about it as long as they're in those buckets, all is good ;-).

My only reason for posting this is I was hoping it could help out someone who might be new, or just searching for the perfect cure like me.

Happy Growing.

Well I gently placed the entire colas that were hanging in there, and pretty much filled up each bucket. There was probably a lb of finished nugs in each bucket once they were manicured, but I put them in right off the hanging lines.

so you hang dry them first or do you just dry all the way in the buckets. definitely a good way to keep them from drying too much for sure.

I think you would have to hang first for a few days at least to get rid of the initial moisture. If you put them in sealed containers right away they would probably grow mold; too much moisture.

I'm going to put the bucket idea on my bucket list.
Too funny!

To the question about drying in the bucket.......no, as stated it would mold FAST! I hang dry, and then threw the dried material still on the big stems in the buckets. Worked like a charm :).
