went and bought myself a hand held microscope the day x100 and just checked the girls the night. my freebie seed is full of cloudy trichs. this is 6 weeks and 1 day from switching to 12/12. she's always been keen, showed her sex after 1 day. it's a double diesel ryder and just done a flush last night as i thought i had another couple of weeks.
i've got another 2 of a different strain that will be a couple of weeks. gone and thrown my plans of 48 hours darkness and drying in the growing cupboard. (light off of course).
has anyone come across this before?

never saw any amber but it took me a while to find some clear trichs, had to go further down the plant. im going to do a wee comparison on the whole 48/72 hour of darkness. i've taken a bud off and hung in a dark box and putting the plant into darkness this morning so will harvest in 3 days. still quite amazed that this is where i am after 6 weeks. as i say she's always been keen so was thinking maybe 1 more week.

10-14 days? You should be flowering for about 8 weeks at least usually IMO

Edit: Bud you posted looks like it could fill out some

aye looked up the strain from the breeder and it's an auto. this makes more sense to me now. the photo of the bud in the box is a nugget that i pulled off the side off the plant. alot of my pistols were turning amber and retracting. i've got 2 double boubleberry that have got another couple of weeks and the buds are alot fatter on them. aye this was a freebie in a clear plastic bullet case. should have read about it first.

here's she was. not quite sure how long ago this was taken. she's been stretching since day 1. couldnt work it out but all makes sense now. should be dry tomorrow and looking like about 1.75 onz. looking at the differnce of bud compared with my other 2 i wont be looking to grow auto's again.

Its your bud so do what ya like. 2 more weeks would give you a lot more weight and better smoke. No strain of cannabis that i have ever grown was done in 6 weeks.

I'm with Shivas, you've put this much time and effort into it thus far...a few more weeks won't hurt. But like he said, it's your bud and your decision. If you like more of a light head high or body/couch lock. Depends what you're looking for, congrats on making it far enough to make this decision.

cheers people. aye i harvested the plant at the start of the week. dried and now smoking. got about 1.5 onz dried. dunno if that's any good on an auto 12/12. canna really get a proper taste of it as got a cold. quite smooth and gets ya minced so im pretty happy. got 2 others that (differnt strain) that im leaving another week and it's looking like near double i'll get from those. thanks again for the input. thinking now could have waited a few more days but you have to see this for yourself. got some nice smoke so could have been worse.

its the strain.. some show cloudy early.. my last grow they started cloudy never were clear.... and I never ever harvest under 70 days... you need to make sure the final plump happens. your yield will go up alot if you hit all the "plumps

as you can see in both pics.. they've hit the final plump.. its more bud then sugar leaves

Just because they turn cloudy doesn't make them ready. They stay cloudy for quite some time and this is when the buds do their filling out. Once the fruit is ripe the trichromes will start turning amber and then *snip* *snip*. Smoke em up!
