Trichomes are about 50% amber at 4 weeks into budding?!?!?(not talking about pistils)

So the pistils on my plant are all still white with a few that are starting to turn brown. But my trichomes I can tell they are 50% amber without even taking out my 40x jewelers loupe...

This plant was covered in trichomes at first it looked like a crystal ball, but now EVERY trichome on a leaf is fully amber, but only 25% of the trichomes are amber on the buds. Wtf is going on this plant still has about 4 weeks left till it is harvest time.

The plant is from Delicious Seeds and the strain is Cheese Candy (Cotton candy x Carmelo).

I DO NOT HAVE MY PISTILS AND TRICHOMES MIXED UP! I am not retarded. I use all fox farms. NONE of my other plants are doing this.

I know the trichomes turn amber because the THC is degrading, but what if the trichomes turned amber before the pistils even had a chance to shrivel up and lay on the buds. Does that mean that this plant is going to be like 17% cbd and lower % of thc? Meaning is this going to be a VERY medical strain!?!?

If this is true then I am going to be pissed that my frostiest plant has very low thc and high CBD, the CBD puts my ass of the couch too hard...

If anyone could explain why this has happened please let me know.

I have people trying to tell me to harvest now, but I know that the trichome stalks have barely even gotten their stalks yet. Meaning the trichomes are still underdeveloped so I know not to harvest yet...

I have a Hawaiian strain that does that.. I chopped and it was great but I've wondered how much weight I lose vs potentcy. I crossed the strain with Headband to see how it does.

When the trichs on the lower bud calyxes(not sugar leaves) turn amber then you can chop. The sugar leaves go amber before the actual buds.

4 weeks is pretty fast for the sugars to turn though.

It could be the strain too, It seems like I've got some ready to be done but seems like they could go a bit longer, yet they are turning amber

Here's a guess -- what else do you have growing in the room at the same time?

My clones started flowering almost immediately after going to 12/12. Maybe twice as fast as they had been doing.
Come to find out I had a couple autos going that turned out male and were starting to flower in my veg room.

So look around for an outside influence that is affecting your grow.

Good luck, BigSteve.

lol im growing outdoors... All my plants started flowering when the light was 14 hours on 10 hours off. Well I know one of the strains is like an equatorial strain, meaning it was taken from the equator. Maybe I got that phenotype and some how it grows better in my backyard then it does on the equator or maybe the light is having an influence on it. I am spraying my plants with BT to stop the fucking worm mother fuckers who are eating my buds! But only this one plant is doing it so it cant be the BT.

I doubt the calyxes have a lot of amber, did you check? Lower buds too.

like a said man in my 40x jewelers scope I see about 25% amber on the calyxes and 50 % amber on the leaves. Only the heads are amber, the stalks are starting to turn amber. The plant has very little patches of clear trichomes left, the rest are cloudy and amber.

Lower buds have little to no amber as you go down the plant. Popcorn nugs have all clear and cloudy trichomes. Id say about 25% on the four top colas and 10% in the middle then no amber at the bottom.

Even at the lower sections there is a small amount of clear trichomes.

Lots of peeps take the plant down at this point, but I wait on the lower buds to amber myself. It is a freak of nature, you might want to clone it?

Im definitely not gonna take it down it still has a little whiles to go. If it took it down now I would have really large but fluffy buds, Im still waiting for that molasses to do its thing and make this lady rock hard. As for cloning it, I do not like to disturb the plant while it is budding, I dont even take off little nugs to try... I might of accidently pollinated a part of it when I was carrying pollen through my backyard. I know I already found a seed growing of one of my others, so hopefully I got a seed that has the traits in it. LOL.

I got the same thing happening to a couple sweet trainwreck plants. The trichs came before flowering I mean it looks like someone dumped trichomes on the buds. I'm 4 weeks from finish and the bigger top colas are all about 10 to 25 percent amber. But I got tons of smaller buds still developing. Should I chop the tops and let the rest mature.
