Trichome Pics Before Harvest

You'll have to play with this a bit and decide what type of high you will want from your plants. Basically you want the trichs themselves to be cloudy, not clear/see-through, for maximum potency/THC. Then by preference, typically (most strains) you may want to go longer and let some of those cloudy trichs turn amber/gold. The more amber/gold, the more of a body stone or "couch-lock" affect that knocks the shit out of you and doesn't give you much interest in doing anything but sitting on the couch and eating munchies. That holds true for most strains, although Indica strains typically have more CBD and therefore more of a body stone than sativas. A sativa high, with cloudy trichs and little if any amber is a head stone, and with some strains will actually give you some energy, you can function, do shit during the day if you're smoking it. I built my grow room over 3 months high on sativas, a puff or two, then right into work, helped me too, I always checked everything 3 times since I was stoned
Here's an example of my current run, the first one is about a week away and a sativa, notice there are tons of trichs, hairs are wilting, but many of the trichs are still clear so I'll be letting it go about 10 days from that pic. The second one is an indica. Again, it's mature but still some clear trichs, will let one go until 95%+ of trichs are cloudy, and another go until about 10-15% of trichs are amber/gold. What I'll end up with is a daytime smoke with the sativa, an afternoon/evening smoke with the cloudy indica, and a sleeping pill smoke for when I want to crash. The popcorn buds from all of them will go into an oil-making bin, that stuff is reserved for when I need to sleep immediately, or knock somebody out that's babbling on about how good their shitty weed is...
