:roll:Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie and a first time grower!!! my girls have been in the ground since April, they were clones, good light, watered daily, completely organic. My girls are about ready, they've been flowering for about 6-8 weeks, I've been studying them under my microscope alot. there are a lot of amber and milky colored trichomes, I just harvested one of the plants and it came out very light and airy, my question is;

1. I know it depends on the strain as to how many trichomes there will be but will there be more trichomes to come later or are the trichomes there and maturing? If I leave them to mature longer is the chance of the AMOUNT of trichome will increase on the plant?? I hope i'm being clear, like I said this is my frist time ;o)

2. Also, I pinned my girls down to bush, the stalks going into the ground are very thick, is there a way to thicken the bud up? the Afwreck..Afghan/trainwreck strain is very airy and light. (that's the strain I just harvested the other strain the Grand daddy purple)
The pictures I left are the Afwreck strain .

Any advice would be great!!! thank you~~!!

I can give u some brief answers to keep u going till the 'pros' come along.
1. Trichomes are part of the plants growth and mature on the plant as it flowers- Trichs on your bud may mature slightly as it dries but I think trichome production comes to a halt after cutting as the plant dies.
When Trichomes form they are small and crystal clear with tiny bulbed heads. These will slowly ripen and stand taller, changing from dew-drop clear to a milky-clear. They will eventually ripen to a more amber colour eventually become distended, swelling and liquiflying as they degrade. You want them half cloudy/amber/clear/
2. Also it sounds like youve been growing classic outdoor Sativas- the types of which u mentioned can be a little thinner on buds- but they practically grow themselves those types. Looks ok to me, a little under trimmed maybe but prob a lovely smoke.
