My plants are wet in the morning from dew. Then they're blasted from early morning sun. I've always made it a point never to actually water the plant, because I've heard the water turns into a magnifying glass in the sun and it burns the plant. True? Myth? I've always just watered the dirt it's in. Do I need to worry about the moisture burning the leaves or flowers?
no, you are fine. i have the same thing happen here. it keeps the leaves nice and clean. keeps the dust off them. mine got rained on last week. the next day when the sun came out they were perkier then they have been in a long time. they looked so happy and clean and green.
i think this myth is more for indoors and high intensity lights.

heh - look at that.....if you look really closely at the dial on my camera at all the little symbols I've never paid attention to, there's a little picture of a flower. If you turn it over to that settings a big ol' message comes on the screen and says it's for close up pictures for detail.
How 'bout that.
