Transporting Cuttings Long Distance.

Hi all,

I am going to take some clones from an outdoor plant at a remote site, the cuttings will spend several hours in transport prior to my being able to place in humidity dome etc.

Is there anything I can do to insure their survival?. Without any roots, a wet paper towel won't be of much help I imagine.

TY in advance for any assistance.

:peace:

just put them in a cup of water they will b fine. i have cloned after they were left in a cup for about 4hr and they were fine

I've left cuttings in water for the better part of a week before putting them in rooters. A wet paper towel in a ziplock works to. I know of peps who mail them that way.

Yea man, I've seen em sit for the better part of a week. I've even heard of a crazy super lab that has an archive of strains being preserved just by a tap root of each in a Petri dish.:confused:bongsmilie

I received some in a Ziploc also. The clones I got were in rock wool but freshly cut. The clones were placed into Ziploc baggies. The two baggies were then placed in a brown paper grocery bag with a ice pack next to them (not on them nor them on it). They stayed in the bag for 3 or more hours for a trip to the desert. They arrived home fine. Great actually. You can use a wet paper towel if you want. Wrap the cut end with a wet paper towel and place it in a baggie. I would recommend misting the plant before placing it in the baggie.

They'll root in just water. When I seen them get ready for mailing, they were fresh cuttings, the clone was placed/folded flat in several thick wet paper towels. The whole clone folded in wet paper towels and then put into a ziplock and then into a postal box with dry towels around it for cushion, they were going cross country. no ice or nothing. I have taken clones home folded the same way in a paper towels.

as long as the stems stay in water you will be fine.. clones will stay alive for at the least a week as long as it doesn't get air lock ...

i drove clones across the country. put them in rockwool and stuck the rockwool in a microwave packed with all my other shit. worked fine. And the people of NC were pleased to taste some washington chronic.
