Transplanting question

I just transplanted into 5 gallon pails. I have the buckets full but when I packed it down a little I am left with the pails 3/4 full. I didn't think it would compress that much. Will they be ok so low in the pail? They are just over two weeks old and I'll be vegging for at least 2 more weeks. Any questions let me know. image.jpeg

No I didn't press to hard. Just enough so it wasn't fluffy. I'm going to top on the next node I'm just hoping its above the top of the pail lol.
Another question.
I didn't put anything on the roots during transplant. Is it ok the feed them nutes first time or should I just use water? Thanks

They should be fine for two or three weeks. What kind of soil do you have? Some soils already have food in them.

I used 50% promix, 20-25% vermiculite and perlite, and the rest worm/mushroom. I have fed them a few times already at 25% strength but I was just curious if I should skip it and use water. I had the same soil in the solo cup before transplant.

What did you use to feed it?

It's the brand of my local hydro store. Quick grow. Did it at 25% for 3 feedings now. My thoughts were I should skip one feeding cause the new soil would probably be enough then go to 50% on the next. But I'm a newb lol.

I take it that's organic. Seedlings are fine for at least a month. They have enough food in the endosperm to last that long. Starting low and slowly working up is a good idea.

Yeah it's organic and I guess everything so far in my grow has been, not really intentional it's just what I keep buying lol. I really don't care for my first grow I'll use anything to get through and then I can eventually add and remove things from my grow. I am just getting started on a perpetual grow and all these are from seed so I'm just going to take a couple mothers out before flowering and then i can have my set up going.

Defiantly keep growing organic. I asked because a lot of people will dump synthetics on the organic soil and end up killing it off.

I have 4 1/4 inch holes and I thought I should add more! I am heading out the the store right now to buy trays for run off. When I get back I'll drill a few more 1/2" holes. Thanks!

If your curious how I make out I have a grow journal started you can check out. I update it at least once a week! Thanks for the help guys.
