when I plant (not something i do every day) I use ceramic pellets in the bottom of the pots. When i transplant the pellets are stuck to the bottom of the soil.
Do i pick the old pellets of before i put the plants in the new bigger pots?
I use pellets and soil on the bottom of the new pots also.
I tried to pick the pellets off one off the plants, but it felt awkward having the tips of the roots just hanging there.
but then i was thinking - would it not be better if the roots got in direct contact with the new soil - instead of going thru pellets to get to it?
i got a feeling if i picked the pellets off i would hurt the roots in someway - like bending them or squeezing them in a bad way when putting into new pots...
