Transplanting germing seed to rockwool questions

So i've used a paper towel soaked in balanced ro water, placed in some plates, and set ontop a seedling mat and they've started to germ to the point where the taproots are about 1/4" out of the seed.

So just curious what the best way to transplant germed seeds to rockwool (rapid rooters technically) is?

How long should they be before transplant?

Should the seed have completely cracked off before transplant?

Should I apply pressure to the cube to make sure the roots are touching good?

What should I move them to? Cloning tray with balanced ro water and a hood on?

Any helps guides instructions? I checked the growfaq but didn't see anything relating to the subject. And the reason I want to post is I have some germing, again as the last 3 I had gotten seemed to have died and they were grand daddy purps, and I don't want to kill of these columbian red haze seeds I got.

Thanks!

You sort of answered your own question. When the taproot is 1/4", it's time to place in rockwool, or whatever medium you're using. Rapidrooters and rockwool aren't the same thing, by the way. Place the germd seeds about 1/4" deep in rockwool and plug the hole loosely with a pinch of rockwool. The rockwool should already be moist before you plant. Wait until the surface dries, then moisten, don't soak.

You should probably have them under a humidity dome and under a light at that point. When they sprout, remove the dome. Keep them under 18/6 light. I don't know what kind of light you're using, but be sure that your tray is at least a few feet away. They don't need all that much light at this point. Don't overwater and only moisten when the surface of your cubes are dry.

Well, I had successfully germed and sexed and have been cloning since. Someone gave me some beans and I "somehow" totally forgot how to repeat the process. I figured there wasn't much to it but i've managed to kill 3 seeds already and felt kinda stupid after so figured i'd clear things up.

Currently I was setting them in cloning tray, soaking them (probably one reason they died) and they were on 24/0 next to some clones.

Are there any like walkthroughs with pictures? Or should I just not soak them and try 18/6?

Thanks

You are making this alot harder than need be.Heres my 2 cents and have great results. With seeds soak in a glass of just plain ol water for 12 hrs, they should be cracked open,if not give another 12 hrs.Take em and put in ph soaked medium at 5.5.I use a closet that stays in the low 80s and 2 43 watt cfls for a week then they go under 1200 watts of cfls. The reason i use the closet is it maintains a steady temp, and my growroom does not i was having trouble cloning in there and since moving to the closet im at 95 percent no dome no misting. The stable temp is the key. IMO.I use powder for cloning and water with root stimulator. When i water i use a big ass eye dropper and be very gentle only adding enough to keep them moist i have roots in as few as 7 days and enough to move to my veggin room in about 14.24/7 is what i use.

I didn't think I was making it too hard. I had done it before and they took like nothing and was a piece of cake. But after losing 3 custom seeds, I just want to refresh my memory and make sure i'm doing everything I should.

I appreciate your input!
