Transplanting before flowering?

I had planned on flowering plants in 2 gallon containers, but lately they've all been very droopy, and they aren't overwatered. I assumed they might be rootbound. But can't plants live in 2 gallon containers happily without needing larger containers?

Also, if one were to transplant from 2 to 3 gallon containers one week before flowering, would this be a good idea? If not, how long is best to wait after a transplant before changing the light cycle?

I am wondering the same question? I just Transplanted today and mine were rootbound. I'm glad i did. My pot was a little smaller than yours, but i should have done mine sooner. I was about 1 week from flowering before my leaves turned droopy and the old leaves turned yellow. I will let you know what happens in a few days.

So far i have not seen any growth and they still look sad, but alive and green mostly

I transplant from 4" deep pots to 3 gallon about a week before 12/12. The plants are from 8" to 12" in the 4" pots. Never had a problem doing it this way. End product is always great. Just my experience..........

Those are about the size of my pots i started in and changed too. I'm hoping mine pull through

My friend transplanted from solo cups to 1.5 gallon pots at 3 weeks. Before the transplant his babies were gettin droopy and sad, the roots were holding the soil together real well (signs of being rootbound). After transplant, they perked up and grew at a much faster rate. It's also much easier to see if you need to water with more soil.

Check one plant, see if it's rootbound, then depending on the results transplant the rest. In my opinion, transplanting before flowering is good to break the plant-stress down into two smaller events.

How long did it take for his plants to turn around? It's been six days for me and they're still the same no better or worse, but they did stop growing a little.
