Transplant questions!

So I have a few plants that are about two weeks old. I am getting ready to transplant them and I would like to get some input on the best phase for best growth. I currently have them potted in 10oz cups, i am going to be finishing my grow in 4 gallon smart pots. What phase would you guy recommend?

Phase 1, 10oz - 1/2 Gal pot - 2 Gal Pot - 4 Gal Pot.

Phase 2, 10oz - 1/2 Gal - 4 Gal Pot.

Phase 3, 10oz - 4 Gal Pot.

The reason I ask about phasing is because I've heard it's a good way to get maximum growth in a small enclosed environment?

Let me know what you guys think. All input Is much appreciated!

I transplanted straight to 5 and 7 gallon pots. I want to try transplanting twice next run and see if there's a growth difference vs a one time transplant.

People are really stuck on this continuous transplant shit. Don't fuck around , put them in the container they are going to be cut down in and call it a day. Screwing around with transplanting from one container to the next despite contrary belief is not healthy or easy for the plant. I avoid over complication and you should too.

I cant go from a half gallon to a 10 gallon. Its against the rules of growing. See article 8 sub-section 4 in the growing handbook of truth. :p

I really dont think transplanting is very stressful to the plant unless you drop it upside down. Every time i transplant the plant doubles in size in no time. Doesnt sound stressful to me, it has more room in its container.

Hmmm, I'm not going to argue with that statement because I honestly never saw the value in it but its probably because I've never done it. I personally do not have any scientific data to back up my statement lol.

You get to feed more often in smaller pots. Smaller pots dry out faster allowing you to feed more frequently. Putting smaller plants in too big a pot means it will take forever to dry or, if you only water just enough and not till you get run-off, you can get salt build-up in you medium. There is a middle ground you want to stay in. imo

I was wondering about this myself. I was wondering if I had to up-pot. Now I know that I don't. I can just go from cup to 5 gallon and skip the rest.

I can see transplanting if you are popping a lot of seeds and looking for a specific trait or rigorous growth etc.. or if you may have males in the batch..

I use to do pot, to pot, to pot...but now I just go from pot to there final container...I use DR Earth, so I don't have to worry about salt build up...works for me, your mileage may vary.

Lmfao ,yes its against the rules!!!! I'm not saying NEVER repot. I guess I transplant also I just never thought about it. I never thought of moving the seedlings from their small cups to a 5 gallon pot as transplanting. But to go from a cup to a half gallon to a 1 gallon to a 2 gallon, and on to a 5. That's what I was blathering about. People do this shit and its totally ludicrous IMO...I admit it . I guess I too transplant...... I feel so dirty.

Well everyone, I think I've decided. Since there are so many mixed reviews I am going to split the batch and see if there's any difference. Since I have 6 plants I am going to do 3 straight to the 4 gal containers, and I am going to do 3 from 10oz - half gal - 4 gal and see if there really is any difference in growth! Thanks for all your input everyone!
