transparent growing mediums

has anyone tried use any grow mediums in which u can watch ur roots grow other that water. i bought a couple of small (roughly 5 oz cups with tin foil lids. they say u poke a hole in the top and put ur cutting in and watch it grow. its been 2 weeks and no roots but weird lookin ssplots are appearing r thoughs roots starting.

i saw those today, it's just a sterile gel, so unless you used rooting horemone in conjunction with it, you won't get much luck, your probably seeing mold...

if they're white spots, then you are in luck. those are roots.......maybe, lol. you can make a bubblecloner out of a clear plastic shoebox. cut out some holes for some styrofoam inserts and an airstone or two and you'll be set.

my first thought was mold but acouple of them are like little thin discs that go around it about 3-16 inches in diameter. yes its white spots . the instuctions say not to use rooting hormones they would only hindder the groth. thanks for your responces ill let you know in another week or so if i see anything.

the clones look healthy enough theyseem perky still but the tips of a couple leaves look burnt chemicaly.

I Finally Got Root Grow It Took 3 Weeks And A Day But Its On Its Way To A Full Recovery. I Left A Pick But Mind The Quality . All I Did Was Cut It Scared It A Little And Planted It In This Gell Its Pretty Freakin Cool.
