Total noob - peat pod question

First time planting and had a question so I kind of have some expectations.

I'm using the peat pod method to plant an autoflowering plant. I have it in the tray which I planted about six days ago, I'm watering the pod about every second or third day depending on when it starts feeling less moist. So far none of the strains have popped through. Am I being a bit impatient and if so what is about the average time everyone has seen them pop through.

Side note I did sit the tray outside one day when it was about 82 degrees but otherwise I've had it sitting on top of my fridge in the house which is between 68 at nights and 72 during the day.

Thanks for the insights.

Proper heat makes a huge difference with germination. I put a heat pad under mine, set to medium, which keeps my seed trays at 75 - 80 degrees, and my seeds usually pop in 24-48 hours and sprout shortly after that. You also shouldn't have to keep watering the peat pods. Just dampen them and then cover the tray so it retains the moisture.

I always start seed in paper towel method usually takes 48 hours then same in peat pods. Always in dryer room in dark and warm.

Have you tried having a blanket or cloth under the tray to help with heat? If you don’t have a heating pad that can be helpful. Also would try to raise room temps somewhat. Do you have a dome over them?

No hadn't put a cloth or blanket around it. Yes I have the dome over it.

Gotcha. I was trying to figure out the whole watering thing but hadn't really found any guidance so I went with every couple days when it started to get less damp on the outside.

At this point will these be a lost cause and I should start over? Or try and heat them up with a heating pad then go from there?

I have one that just popped after 5 days but just take a look at your seeds. If they are turning black then they are more than likely done for.

Cool thanks. I'll try and wrap them up and put a heating pad under it and see where it is in the next day or two if nothing I'll pull a pod apart and check one of the seeds.
