If you look at my Jedi thread you can see the space I grow, it is 23.5" x 23.5" around 5.5' tall. To be fair the fan/variac and muffler all sit outside of the grow box, with a small grow room and 400W light I needed a lot of air circulation for temp control. Even when running my 90W UFO and a couple 43W CFLs I need the airflow in there. Is it overkill, maybe 
But it works and the sound is low enough it can be masked with a window fan or PC.

just a thought, i'd get some house plans and practice on them. 1. teaches you how to grow things 2. gets your housemates use to you growing things. 3. they're pretty and smell good.

Great advice, I put a jasmine plant in my office, next to my grow and it smells great and gives a good reason to bring water/fert into the area.

I am ordering 400w dimmable from ebay in few hours, but I have 150w htg and 135w ufo in small grow room at the moment; 5,000 btu window a/c can keep temps at 60 if i wanted during summer, doesnt go much above 80 until august, and its for like 2 weeks if that, short summers here. You think I would need cooltube for the 400w or just ac controlling room temp is good enough? I figured from rough estimates the 150w is 340 btu of heat, so i would be looking at lil over 1,000 btu with all the lights going, I'm thinking the a/c being rated to cool/ventilate 5x that space should be good enough? My temps are easily controlled by how low/high the ac is set.
It's quite a small room and the intake air is not far from grow spot, temps directly fluctuate when a/c clicks on, so it keeps them well regulated within 75-80 degrees on average setting to keep room cool, the a/c also pulls air out but I figured I would invest in lights before a tent so I don't really have any exhaust, the room is the tent atm, but she stays well vented and humidity/temp is controlled easily. Was a little nervous but it is dimmable so I figured I could work around if I do have any problems hopefully.
edit: checked ur thread, ur lights are pretty close, closer then my 150w hps and 135w ufo lol, think I'll try to find one with a cooltube just to be on safe side.

Run very close because of the tube. The best thing about a big fan though is if you have a big fan and ducting, you can run it at lower speeds and get the same airflow with a lot less noise. That said I don't have AC (live close to the beach so also cool for all but a couple weeks at the peak of summer) and my grow is in my garage which is not well insulated for the same reason I have no AC

! Sorry I am slow to respond, sometimes I have to much to do rofl. Well I was watching a video and I saw someone using Fluorescent tube lights going up both sides of the back of his grow cabinet and was wondering if that is a really good idea?Alright guys I am just making sure I got everything that I need on my list.

Temp/Humidity gauge-Day/night
Fan- Computer fans (don't know which one), or 6' Inline fan with dimmer
-What fan should I use for intake?

Ph meter or strips.
Mylar
Reflector hoods for the lights. (anyone know which ones I should Buy??)
Premier soil with MG nutes (still dunno where to buy the nutes and which ones to buy. They all look the same to me)
Anything else I will need?
Carbon filter- (probably gonna make the one suggested earlier)
