I know that this plant has to be female i can just feel it

but this morning i noticed that there has been some changes to the nodes, as they are getting bigger but no balls so far and thats a good thing

one more thing, when a fan leave reaches its extent of use what happens to them. do they just fall off after all the nutes have been used out of it?

yea man,,i never cut them,but some people do to get light to the lower foliage..I dont agree with that cause the plant needs em!

Word if i notice them starting to die off ill take em off. I have cleared some of the lower foliage that was on the verge of dieing off. Oh yeah Purp your gonna like this...........

all the hard work is paying off. I see more and more hairs as the days go by ....well its only been one but there everywhere.

No, that is a myth. Either a MH or HPS is fine for budding. Some swear by one, others by the other. I've done the experiments with both. Found no difference.

MMMM I disagree with Uncle Ben. If I'm not mistaken, the plant reaches out for blue spectrum, that is why your plant doubles or triples in size with flowering as it's overwhelmed with red spectrum light. Please correct and clarify if necessary!

during vegg. the plant requires a higher kelvin bulb that puts out a blue spectrum..during flower the plant needs a lower kelvin bulb that puts out a red spectrum.Use both during vegg and flower for optimal results.

i actually just got like 5 high output cfl's,3 2700k and 2 5000k,got all of em goin at 24 now(since yesterday) up from 18/6....praying it'll give a good yield

that should work excellent!like i say,dual spec. is the best because your giving the plant every spec it wants!

You're coming from a reference point of theory. I've done the experiments. You can grow a high yielding plant from start to finish with nothing more than a HPS. I've posted the pix fo 10 years.

MH has the red spectrum and HPS has the blue. The hydro stops have your money and in this biz, that's all that counts.

Little better view

When you cut a fan leaf its like cutting skin off your foot it hurts and stress her out she will stop progress to make sure she heals that part that was cut i have my big girl set back about 2-3 weeks cause i keep cutting her, just the fans. so let them fall off thats when she is ready to get them gone and wont stress her out. tug lightly if she lets go take it if not she is using that leaf still.

Lights are important but not pickey what brand as long as she can see them.

and thats what i have been doing. Once shes done they'll come off. I have removed a little of the under that was almost dead but havent cut anything else

The reason for plants doing just fine under a HPS only is due to the wide spectrum it emits. MH puts out a more defined blue spectrum, while only emitting minimal amounts of the remaining wave-lengths. Since we were talking of CFLs instead of HIDs, a blue spectrum bulb will be more suited for vegg, while a red spectrum bulb will be more suited for flowering. As purp said, supplying the plants with both spectrums during the grow, the plant will have all the light it needs at any given point of time. Of course, you will only be missing a UV bulb, which is very beneficial since none of the other grow bulbs emit UVA or UVB rays.

This is what I have learned through research and a short amount of experience.
