I have never topped a plant because height was never an issue.I now have height restrictions so i topped 4 of my plants at the top of the main stem just below the last set of nodes/leaves.Nothing has grown back yet and it's been over a week. If nothing grows back there will i basically lose my main cola,or will the loss of the main top make other areas of the plant compensate the loss. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. When you topped it you removed the main cola - it won't grow back. The top pair of branches should now develop more than they would have had you not topped it, effectively giving you two main colas. However it's unlikely they will grow as big as the original one would have, but now you have two so you should get an increased yield overall. You might even be lucky and get more than the top pair getting bigger. I topped one of mine and got about six main colas LOL. Yield was pretty good.

Last node? Now is that the very top or very bottom of the plant?
You already lost the main cola by topping.
Top early say 6-8th internode or so. Once it appears to be too big, its almost too late to work with (but can be done.)
Can take a bit to get new growth. It has to deal with the shock of being cut down.

yeah i'm with this dude. I always top them at about the ten inch mark and end up with bout 4-6 equal sized colas

i topped my first grow after 10 days of flowering that way i didnt get branches but just buds from the point that i cut i wasnt happy with the top cola but it still weighed 1 ounce. Check it out "My first true grow" theres picks of the "twin buds" hanging upside down drying, in the end.
