Topping your buds

Looks like some frosty bud bro. Good job.

The one on the right side of the pic is the one i topped, the left is "normal" bud formation. Not really any difference i can see. If you squeeze the buds they both feel the same density and size.

How much longer are you in flower... I think it takes a few weeks.. @bigpuffer

You don't top buds during flower, you chop them off.

For the two in the pic about 3-4 weeks in flower of about 8.

I'm tempted to try it on a plant... @bigpuffer

Topped is a little bit bigger and denser.. so far..

I know this is old, but nipping the top of your buds will make fatter denser buds. I promise you! I grow some monsters and will always top my buds. If you do it right the proof is massive. Golf ball vs softball.

You can't just recommend something with no explanation or proof other than stating you personally got ''golf ball vs softball'' because ''I promise''. People are getting that density already so you need to show a hell of a lot more evidence before advocating such a risky technique.

Yes, I will post some pictures tonight for you. Also that was an example. It's more like 2 liter pop bottles vs a 20oz. I'm in week 2 on some flaming cookies so it's a perfect time to show everyone the begging to end

The topped one just looks wider but its not as tall because the tip growth is gone.
You are just seeing it as bigger cuz thats what you want to see

Give it time, I got weeks to go. I'll be posting every week, I'll show the actually branch on both tonight. You'll see the difference in the end

It would be better if you could show this with a more visually obvious and evenly distributed technique. Sog, scrog even 2 plants UB topped vs 2 plants UB topped+bud topped. Mainline vs mainline+bud topped also comes to mind.

Are your current ones all of the same cuttings?.

Yea, there's been nothing to post yet. I'll go out there tonight and show the difference, that's just one plant. It's from seed cannaventure flaming cookies. It wasn't obvious yet, it is now

So far the topped bud is the biggest bud on my entire plant and it's not even in direct light like some of the other colas, I'll have better pictures of comparison tonight
