topping vs not topping

ok a natural grow plant pulls so much . a topped plant like mine with 8 nodes pulls so much. i have been topping so long i honestly cant rem how much a natural grow will get compared to ones we train . topped plant more fruit sites but usually smaller the a natural grow . but natural grow will get a monster fruit 3 or 4 inches around 2 foot long . depending on the number of plants and conditions lights so on and so on i know . lets say 1000 watts both big plants each has there own light for this purpose . hope you can make heads or tales of my post ive been sick for a week got zero sleep last night .

bump . i am doing a side by side i will see if there is a difference . a friend of mine does nothing to her plants does very well besides use bamboo poles for support no trimming called a lazy grow .. i top the hell of them and use bamboo poles to hold every branch straight up and lolly popping . and super cropping . so ill do 1 natural grow no trimming no topping no super cropping vs my usual . will post my results later . surprised there were no replies to my post yet .

I think it's hard to do a side by side bc of plant heights . But you can probably work around that. Good luck and I know you'll keep us posted.

There are a lot of factors at play in a grow. But if you did a side-by-side with clones from the same mothers, and had the same conditions, lighting, and nutes, I am almost certain the topped plants would consistently yield better. The more even canopy and more squat plants can use the light more effectively than a plant where the bottom growth is not getting enough light (more common with untopped plants).

Yeah I was thinking of the stretch of an untopped plant vs a trained plant. I know I can veg and flower single colas faster than vegging and training . So if the scale you gage by is gram per kw over a set time frame, the side by side would be very interesting , but IDK what the answer would be.

Definitely top... more than once... don't worry about stress. They will recover. If your plants are healthy that is. I top 2 or 3 times during veg..
Now I have 10-18 tops per plant instead of 2-4.

First time grower here. I'm doing a side by side as well outdoors. One was topped early in the flowering stage the other is running wild. The topped plant is doing incredible (lush and dark green, thick buds, crystals, etc) and hovering around 4ft x 4ft while the other is doing well 6ft x 5ft however the buds are no where near as dense, no crystals and its lacking the dark green hue. Ive attributed this to the fact that its focusing on growth rather than buds being all of the condions are the same except that it hasnt been topped . Im thinking once the sun moves from 12 -12 the un-topped plants buds will start thickening up so if thats accurate than thus far it would appear that the topped plant will produce thicker lusher buds while the non-topped will produce sufficient buds yet in greater quantity.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
