Topping vs Fimming?

this will be my 1st time doing this i want to know what you people out there think. what are the pros and cons? and what are some of the troubles i may run into?
i noticed there wasnt (or i didn't look hard enough) anything about topping in the grow faq anymore just Fimming

the main reason for topping or fimming is to chop off the apical (or top) bud, therefore cutting off the supply of the auxin hormone and creating more lateral plant growth from the lower nodes. Im not an expert, but from what i can gather, I would say fimming is the same as topping, except you happen to miss the entire top shoot. (FIM=F*ck I Missed) Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge can fill you in on anyhting else.

has any 1 tried them both? if i do top will it grow a bit taller than fim? and support the weight of its branches better. last grow brunches could only just support the weight of there buds

same shit different stick I got sick of this and I just use my finger nails and just rip the top section out adn let it grow if I want more colas I just rip out where ever I see a nod forming works for me love it great results

Do both and see for yourself.

Top a plant early, then fim one branch, and top the other.
