Thats what im talking about is the branches. A topped plant has less branches and that means less weed.
How many branches do ya want on your plant? 6 or 20

Once ya cut the top off the plant it only grows 2 more branches out the top. If ya dnt the plant continues to grow branches. If ya top the plant when it has 20 branches then ya will have like 2 main colas and then 20 branches.

How many branches do you want on your plant 6 or 20?

thats the thing... the two more branches it grows are main colas

whereas on the other plant it simply has 1 larger cola and smaller budsites.

I have a question for those who are against topping: If topping is bad then why is SCROG one of the most quickly spreading techniques for maximizing yield and uniformity in your growing space? I understand where both sides of this argument are coming from... but you cannot discount the advances in this science the last few decades. I have been strictly outdoor for my whole life, but now that I am indoors with limited space I have adapted my tried and true ways to include topping in order to maximize yield per square foot of space.

I think in the end we are all arguing about personal preference but I do believe that topping has its place and is a viable way to modify your garden profile while maximizing yield potential.

i think im going to top or FIM because i have 8 plants that are 4 weeks old and im getting ready to flower the small thing and they wont really grow many more branches anyway. just being my first time i wasnt sure where to cut and was quite sure what it did but now i understand a little better. anyone know where i can get the best price on white widow i cant find it for uner 100 USD and you only get like 5 seeds.
