Topping question

I just topped my plants 2 days ago and my question is where does the growth come from? The cut stem? The reason I am asking is because I am not getting any new growth for the plants. It might be the shit light system the I am using right now. This is my first topping.

Help Please

the two shoots either side of the stem you chopped should start to grow once the plant has sorted itself out, you might get some weird shit coming out of the stem, this could be new growth as well, like FIMing, but i've always cut it off cause it looks fucked

rarely but it can happen, the shoots coming out from the base of the big fan leaves are your new main stems. If your trying to keep them really short you'd top them again when they get bigger.

Ok so in reality I shouldnt see any growth from the stem that i cut then. From what I see that is the case here. It turned brown and nothing seems to be happening to the stem where the cut was made.

all the lower branches will start to shoot up to try to replace the top that has been removed keep topping the tallest ones and a little bend here n there and pretty soon you'll have a bush

I was going to try that but being this is my first time I think I will wait for my knowledge of growing to increase before I give that a try.

There is indeed a very exotic topping technique called FIM (Fuck I Missed) Where you top really close to the base of the shoot, almost into the leaf base. If it's successfull you will get multiple shoots, I've never bothered with it myself but I accidently did get one shoot come out of the topped stem once.

My last grow (which i never finished btw) I let grow until
it had 4 sets of leaves, then i (actually pinched not cut) the
4th set. Then like in your pics those two small yellow leaves
extend to be two more shoots in place of the main stem,
thus creating two main colas instead of one.

the new growth will bigin in what i call the plants arm-pits, so look for those tiny green lips opening up and reaching for the sky
