Topping off my babies

I am a newbie, and ive done my fair share of research I understand that Topping off plant doesn't necessarily go based on a time frame as much as it does on the plant growth. I am growing White Widow starting off with two plants and want to make sure i do this right can anyone with experience with this strain give me a time frame that i might first top off my plants. 7-10 days? Any extra advice and help is always apperciated. Thanks in advance for your knowledge and help

That right there is all you need boss! By FAR the best topping method!

This is a Seedsman White Widow.
It got 1w 18/6 then was flipper to 12/12.
She grew under CFLs until about 2wk into flowering, then went under 400w once I got it around week 3 flowering.
I topped it back just above the 2nd node, once the plant was about 6 nodes tall.

Agreed, It served me well.
Wait till the 6th or seventh node and top just above the 2nd.
Simple as can be.

I topped my plants at around 1 month from seed.. im only growing under 100w though... if you are growing under 400watt or more then you may be able to top after a week or 2
