Topping my plants...

Quick question... I will be putting my plants into flowering tomorrow night. They are a little too tall for my setup and am intending on topping them before I put them into flowering. Is that a big no no, or can I get away with topping them and putting them into flowering back to back. I don't want to stunt or hurt my plants in any way. I'm off to bed, so I will check back responses on this tomorrow before I do anything drastic. Thanks for your advice.

I'd leave off flowering for a week or so after topping. If your plant is under stress when put into 12/12, it may increase your chances of hermies.

Not at all saying your wrong man... That is the reason why I'm asking the question. I guess to be more precise with my question, I should have said what is the chance my plant will have problems? Does anyone else top and flower together? I want to hear what people have done from experience if possible.

nah man he right you kant do it back to back it will shock ur plant and it will be like 80-90 percent chance it will be male, and even if it doesnt go male ur plant will halt growth for up to a week.. just go with topping them and giving it a week.

If your plant is already too big for your set up, then you better start doing some lst on that bitch. she is gonna double if not triple in height when put on 12/12.

OH MY! Is that what happens when they go into flowering?! As you can see from the amount of post I've made on this site I am brand new to growing and have never done this before. I hope my bud turns out to be as pretty as my brown and spotted 3 pointed leaves! Thank you Hazmat I would be lost without you. :wall:

hehe, if time isnt a factor, i'd say u LST it and top it as well... give time for plant to recover for like 10 days, if not 2 weeks... then throw it into flower....i say u may double ur yield.

Maybe you just aren't very good at it....
Dude when people post on peoples threads, info that is unrelated to the topic it's irritating. It makes you come across like you're just trying to sound smart so people will +rep you when you're just putting stuff in a thread that doesn't belong there. Maybe you are just genuinely trying to help, I dunno... My point being in my sarcasm that was obviously over YOUR head is exactly that. I was asking about toping my plants and flowering together. All that extra stuff belongs in a different thread. Sorry, but that had to be said not just to you, but to a lot of people on this forum.

As far as this thread is concerned, thanks for all the help guys, It really allowed me to figure some shit out. Even though a lot of people on this site (including myself depending on my mood) may have a huge ego's we pamper a little too much, we always come through for each other one way or another and I do appreciate it. I'm out... :peace:

I have a harvest every month so time is a factor... Though that is a good idea. I know they say not to, but I grow different strands together that have a similar finishing time and always get great results. 14 of the 40 ladies were one strand that just kinda took off on me. I'm doing single stem so I just trimmed em up and put em in. I think they might be a little tall, but still manageable. Besides some plants yield better when you top them and some don't. It's all genetics baby!

Believe it or not, I was just trying to help. I couldn't give a damn about rep etc. I'm not some kid who is out to make a name for myself, just to fuel my fragile teenage ego (and if I was, i'm many years too late).

Unfortunately, I can't climb into your brain to determine what knowledge you already have, and the extra info that annoyed you so much was directly relevent, if not to you then to others who may read this thread.

You said that your plants were too tall, and you wanted to start flowering, so I pointed out a safe alternative to topping, and even went so far as to dig up some links to save you having to look for yourself. This was after I had already given you the answer to your actual question.
