Topping 1st day of flower?

As the title reads. Can you top early flower?

I get the idea that if I were to top, it would just make sense to switch back to the vegging cycle so the plant can repair.

Does anyone have experience of topping very early flower?

Or is it just pointless?

Reason being is that my 90% sativas are already 22 inches high when I wanted to flower at 16.

Got a thrip problem and Spinosad can only be ordered from across the pond and has taken an extra 2 weeks to get here.

Yeah man, that’s what I yesterday. She’s been topped once about a month ago.

Apparently there’s a really stretchy phenotype and looks like I’ve got just that.

Here she is just now. I’ve got another larger plant support which I’ll use later on.

So guess I’ll just bend the shit out of her and hope she stops before the light. Low ceilings in my house so don’t have the most amount of head room.

Looking at the size of the plant, if youve already flipped then i cant see it getting out of control, if it was twice that size you might of been close to getting out of control but i would say youll be fine. Good luck happy growing dude.

Here is my personal experience.

I broke off one of the Cola branches on this plant about a week before flipping. I have it a few more days to repair, but wanted to get it flipped due to both it had already gotten too big, and it was in a group with a couple other plants that I wanted to keep on schedule.

After accidentally breaking the first Cola branch, I went ahead and cut off the other Cola branch.

The damaged sites have not repaired, but, the rest of the plant is currently thriving.

I wouldn’t top and flip, I would top and give a minimum of another 10 days of veg.

I tried topping on flip day once because I wanted to see what would happen. Instead of one big cola, you get two big buds or two little colas, one on each side of the topped spot splitting out in a V shape. I don't think it helped or hurt overall yield.

Basically what happened is it sent out two new branches that stretched with the plant during flowering and budded with the rest of the plant like normal.

See I did that about a month ago and got a very nice V shape. 2 main colas and 2 lesser ones.

Which actually made it weave quite nicely.

Thinking of spiralling it?
