Toping?

Hey everyone, new guy here and was just wondering what the benifits of topping are? Also I heard it helps keep the plant shorter, is that right?

wen u top a plant insted of growin wit 1 main cola u git 2 main colas. and if u top thes 2 colas u will git 4 colas and so on. but b careful if u top to much it can stress the plant into goin hermaphrodite. also wen u top it slows the growth of the plant a bit so u wood need to veg a lil longer

K, but does the 2 colas have the same amount of bud as the first main cola if u did not top?

the two tops will be like twins lol

it shood cux ther will b 2 main colas insted of jus 1. if anything itll increase uur yield

I knw but will it double the yield?

So strains do not take as well to toping. Normally you will get more weight, but less "show" buds. But, show buds are just for bragging.

if done right all 4 should be identical..

I'm only on my 3rd grow right now and I just topped for my first time, but I did get 4 main branches on each plant. I'll post pictures when they've had a chance to veg more

What part makes you LOL?

Show buds are nice to look at, but have a hughe stem in the middle. And some strians even the breeders say do not top.

Either way, best of luck and keep growing.
