top leaves twisting

anyone knows what this is about?

using very hard tap water EC 0.7, last watering gave them GHE Flora grow+bloom+micro, at 0.8cc each for an EC of 1.3 (650-750ppm). Also some additives - root juice and enzymes by hesi, diamond nectar by ghe.

Before that they were on Atami coco nutrients with similar EC levels, but on RO water with extra epsom salts and the additives mentioned above.

all 10 plants are getting the same but only this plant shows such severe symptoms.

The runoff I've been getting has been similar (1.45 EC, pH 6.4)

this one is Royal Orange (Flying Dutchman), under a 600w HPS (changed from 400w a few days ago)

nope. still in veg, about a month old now. they've had these issues from the start but in a mild degree. they are in coco-perlite mix (local brand) 50-50.

Same thing is happening with mine now. It doesn't seem to be a problem, they flatten out as they get older

Looks like either a slight binding of the roots or some mute mutation. Nothing to worry about. What are your room temps like ?......
Try a light flush and a trim to promote some new growth.

I have it on both strains, to some degree. They are indeed growing, but don't look as good as they should. They are in very large smart pots so root bound shouldn't be an issue. I thought it was a calmag issue, i was using RO, but I switched to tap water (very hard, 0.6 EC) and it doesn't help. Can't get calmag where I live otherwise except epsom salt.

I think maybe the water has a lot of cal and not enough mag?

if it's happening to both strains then you can rule out genetics... If anything i would say its a heat issue, but other than that they don't look bad at all.. Newer growth sometimes does this.

and IMO its not a calmag issue and just make sure to go easy on it cause I have found in veg that adding too much calmag can do more harm then help

wish i had calmag... all i got is hard water and epsom salts

so yeah i guess it's ok. I wish they looked better but... gotta love em anyway

ok 2 more questions... The ph your referring to is your soils ph or your nute solution goin in? How are you measuring your ph?

the pH going in is 5.6-6.0. The pH of the runoff and the medium sample is always 6.2-6.4, regardless of what goes in. I use a red pH pen by Hanna. calibrated and checked against tap water.

yes what does that mean? The roots seemed very good when I transplanted them, albeit a bit late in that for some.

some pics of my plants

they look good all and all but also bad... if you notice the slight paleness of upper growth, and curling/twisting. Also ridged leaves some. No overfert symptoms or bottom yellowing.

Second row first pic looks like tad heat stress

Second row 4th pic looks like a slight mag def but leaf if older so nothing to really worry about.

I think if you flushed real good and refed then they should bounce right back.. But IMO they look pretty good

it's HPS (just cfl for the pics), and max temp is 22c, so i reckon it's not heat. but as long as the problems are at bay i guess i'm happy

update: no change as of yet. problems lingering. tried everything - more mag, less mag, more cal, less cal. tap water RO. no avail.
