Top Fed Drain to Waste Journal (12 OG) Looking GOOOOOD!

Again, this is a Medical Marijuana Journal, All harvested plant material is consumed by the licensed growers. Nothing is Sold so do not ask!

This time we are doing a Top Fed Drain to Waste in 5 Gallon Net pots. We will be growing 3 different strains from 3 different growers (uh O!), 7 OG Kush from one Grower, 4 OG Kush from another Grower and 2 SkyWalker runts from another. I’m not sure if it is a Skywalker OG or just the “Skywalker” But sure to be good!!!

Fast Forward the Future: This is 2 weeks four days from the start and Day 1 of Flowering!!!

Here is the Frame of 2 x 4’s that has been painted with Snow Roof as to avoid Mold and water damage


The New Water Tank: (list and reasoning coming soon!


The Stand/Drain going together, we used 8’ x 36” White PalRut on top of the wood drain, Screwed in and caulked over the screws. It is set at an angle and a Rain Go Gutter was installed on one end to collect the drain water and send it to our drain.

5000 WATT, Co2 Enhanced 12 x 12 x 6’ 8 Tall room, AC, Water Chiller and Air pump for reservoir.
Veg = Sensi Grow A & B
Vita Grow Micro

Flower = Canadian SBA & SBB
Bud Blood Powder
Big Bud Powder
12 Five Gallon Net pots
Hydroton or Landscape rocks for extra Drainage and to keep the medium in the pots
2 large Bags Vermiculite
2 Large Bags of Perlite
2 Medium/Large Bags or Peat Moss
8 10 ft 2x4’s
4 sheets of White PalRuf 8’ x 36” for Drainage
1 RainGo Gutter & 4 Mounts
Of course PH up & Down
We might use a little SM90 and H2o2
Pyrethrum and Azatrol for Pests if they show thier faces..

Here are the rocks we used for the drainage, Hydroton or pea gravel would probably work also..

The Vermiculite we used (2 bags)

The Peat Moss we Used (1 ½ bags) maybe a tad more…

This Is day 1 of Vegetative growth! At this point I am only feeding it Sensi Grow Veg formula A & B, Micro and B1.
9 TSP of Sensi Grow A & B, ¼ TSP Vita Grow Mico and ¾ TBLS of B1 Per 5 Gallons. I Only have the two 1000 watt Metal Halide lights on at the moment. (The Room Has 5000w 3 1000w Hortilux Sodiums and 2 1000 Hortilux Metal Halides) I’m also watering by had as the water tank is not hooked up correctly and they only need a few gallons a day at this stage.

Here we are at day 6 of Vegetative growth. The Runts are starting to gain some new leaves finally.. Its been HOT so only 4000 of the 5000 watts have been on at this point. There has been no CO2 in the room and the temperature has been getting close to 95 degrees even with the AC.. Not so good but they are still looking good and the growth rate is really starting to speed up.. The Chiller has been keeping the water at about 78, set for 73…

The "Skywalker" Runts are still slow going at this point and we were a little worried about these.. They were almost exchanged at this point but we decided to keep them in and just go for it....

On day 8 of Veg I also topped 4 of the tallest plants and super cropped two of them.. I only pinched them twice; I did not bend them over! (Yet) They are looking pretty good and our Veg time of 3 weeks looks like it will have to be cut short... They are still hand watered with just Sensi Grow A & B and Vita grow Micro. We stopped the B1 at day 3. At this point are drinking about 10 gallons a day..

Here is day 11 of Veg.. The runts are still lagging behind but looking a lot better so I have hope!!! Once again hand watered and they drank about 10 gallons.

Here is a KOG 3 days after getting a pinch!!

This is now Day 16 of Vegetative growth and we are now switching over to flower.. They are getting huge and we can’t wait on the Skywalkers anymore. Timer going to 12/12 hand watered 10 gallons. 1.85 Tsp of Blood Blood, 1.25 Tsp of Vita grow Micro and 10 TSP of SBA & SBB per 5 gallons. We are also adding insulation to the water tank today.. Well I loved the NFT Sprinklers so I'm sure this one will be better!
But you decided to go back to soil this run.. why?
I decided to build myself the NFT Aero system instead of buying it I'm really excited and think I'll start at the end of the month.

The Sprinkler NFT was GREAT it was just too much for the small room.. I do highly suggest it if you have the room and concrete floors! We are going with this system because I have seen it in action and it produces monster buds.. The same sytem has produced close to two pounds per 1000w with multiple lights of OG kush. It also allows us to be closer to the ground and gives us a little more head room.. We are still using full strength hydroponic solution and watering 10 seconds every 30 minutes at this point. It's basically a soilless medium but the peatmoss that throws it off.. There is only a little Peatmoss and used basically as a PH buffer.. Either way I still consider it hydro because what we are feeding it and how often it is watered. I have more Pics to post just haven’t had the time.. Stay tuned!

Well I consider Hydro using soil-less medium in an automatic water feeding system
I do have a concrete floor and a high ceiling, so I believe the system is going to be ideal.. I will however make some adjustments to the one you made to suit my room, but the details will be extremely helpful
I'm thinking a 4 site 8 pot system, 180cm long and 110cm wide Add 2x 600W under 2 Adjust a Wings.. should produce some nice yields.

Thanks guys! At this stage they were at about 1200 PPM, as of today we have it at 1380 PPM and we might lower it a little on the next change... The tips might be showing just a tad of burn! This system is extremely easy and they are looking fantastic! I'll post further along pics later tonight..
