Adorable. I like the tidiness of it.
I do to. I might get a 2nd one down the road and have different things growing or I might just buy their bulbs and the light socket thing so that I can screw the AeroGarden lights into a regular light socket.

looking good toolage.
you should be able to use a lil basil here soon
Thanks. I am excited to be able to use some basil soon. I might make a pesto with it. The add nute light starts flashing at 2 weeks then you hit the refresh button and it resets the add nute timer but Its been going for 7 days now so that goes to show you how good those plants are. When they get bigger I might turn around and take some cuttings off of them and grow them in soil to or get a nice sized rubbermate container like my 5 gallon one but cut holes in it to fit those little pod things in it. Also I might buy a 2nd AeroGarden to grow more herbs in or use it to grow seeds in.

----- Update -----

Today I picked up Some PH Up & PH Down since I had the money for some. I would have gotten the bigger bottles but they want between $20 and $30 so I chose the small ones. Depending how the LED panel that I bought yesterday does I might buy 1 for my AeroGarden and test it out.

Very nice. Can't wait to see em in about three weeks. They'll be all full and bushy. I forget. Do you gotta feed those herbs?

Yes. The herb kit came with enough 8ml packs of organic food that should last about 4 to 6 months and that's a feeding every 2 weeks but I think I'll try to get away with every 3 to 4 weeks and stretch out the life of the plant food. I also might try cloning them to once they get bigger.

Ok that's one way of growing but you could of spent that money different. I think you should of tried to build something yourself. You know all that thing is, is a box of water with an air pump in it? So I guess you paid 150 for 1 cfl light. I made a post on here about a dwc system I made with shit just laying around my garage. Of course I already have nutrients from growing indoor that are quality but a lot cheaper than $20 for 1qt. You could of got a 150w hps- or stuck with cfl if you wanted for some reason, but got more of them.
A system like that looks like it takes all the fun out of growing and makes it robotic- which i guess is good if you want to just push a button and have food, not be a gardener. Sorry for bagging on your system, i'm just really not a fan. One last point- why does it even tell you what to plant and give you pre-made "pods" to plant them? Don't you know you can grow what ever you want in a real garden and even with that system? And all they are is seeds! I paid $1 at aldi the other day and got 75 tomato seeds! Know another way to practically get them free- buy one tomato to eat from the supermarket, or chilli or capsicum or what ever and keep a few seeds and plant them- they grow!
Ok i'm done. Sorry again- i'm just trying to spur you in to taking gardening away from pushing a button on a machine with a "pod" in it. Can I trouble you to look at my DWC tomato post? :) lol

I already have a DWC system I've been having problems trying to germinate seeds in so I bought the AeroGarden.

I made a post on here about a dwc system I made with shit just laying around my garage. Of course I already have nutrients from growing indoor that are quality but a lot cheaper than $20 for 1qt. You could of got a 150w hps- or stuck with cfl if you wanted for some reason, but got more of them.
Sorry but $150 includes the air pump , air stone , 2 26w CFLs witch in the stores around here that runs for around $12 each so that's $24 right there. Its compact to not to mention it. Also I have it where I have my espresso machine witch you can't do that you a DIY system because I want to have fresh herbs to pick right then and there that I can use for tea. Also it comes with 7 different seeds and around here they are around $2 each pack so that's $14 right there and there's not guarantee that the seeds are fresh and if non germinate the company that made the seeds won't refund you so your out that money. With the AeroGarden if the pod doesn't germinate you call them and they will send you a replacement. The air pump can run you for about $10 to $20. Not having to buy light fixture that's around $10 right there to. Also the stuff that you have to to buy build the area to hold the lights up safely is going to cost around $10 or what ever. Then you get organic plant food for them that is made to last up to 2 to 3 weeks and you don't have to mess around with PH up and PH down and a PH pen and the packs that the kits come with can feed your plants for around 4 to 6 months. So if you use the PH up and PH down that's around $16 right there. A decent PH pen will run for around $70. So when you add all that up it will cost you more then a DIY system when you don't have things lying around the house. I don't have random stuff lying around the house or any thing so I have to buy things when I need them. Oh I also for got 2 replacement bulbs cost $22.38. So all in all I would have spend pretty much spend more then what the AeroGarden would cost its self. Not to mention I can turn around get a little rubber mate tub cut a 2 inch hole in it and put my plants in there. 3 of those pots can fit in a nice small area just a little bigger then a 4 inch net pot. Also using a 150w HPS or any higher powered light your going to need more cooling thus costing you more money to keep the area cool. Don't have a free spot that I can hang and or mount lights for a indoor garden doing it your way. A 150w HPS light cost around $50 here so I',m not going to spend that on a light then have to cool tube it or get a air cooled hood and all that stuff. Oh I can't forget that a ballast would have to be bought to so that's even more. The other nice thing about the AeroGarden is that I don't have to use 1 plug for the air pump , 2 plugs for the lights or have to use a timer for it. If I had the 3 light system I could buy a 3 pack of lights for around $30.

A system like that looks like it takes all the fun out of growing and makes it robotic- which i guess is good if you want to just push a button and have food, not be a gardener. Sorry for bagging on your system, I'm just really not a fan.
I wanted some thing that I can move around if I please and not have to tare things down to move it. The other thing that is nice about it is the way that the system is made it has a humidity effect when you use those domes for germinating seeds.

There are different kits around. The reason why they say to grow herbs only or veggies only and such is because even if you buy the seeds and grow it your self they are all gonna have different needs. If I can fund a way that I can use part of a rockwool cube in the system to germinate the seeds with and not have to worry about the plug its self. Also I don't have the space to make another grow spot for a indoor garden and I didn't want to find a place and take away more space.

Ok i'm done. Sorry again- i'm just trying to spur you in to taking gardening away from pushing a button on a machine with a "pod" in it. Can I trouble you to look at my DWC tomato post? :) lol
Took a look at it and I don't have any of that stuff to do one like that so I would have ended up having to spend money to build one.

My point is. I know that I could have built a system my self but having to figure out where to hang the lights safely and such is to much of a pain not to mention I don't want to have it where no one can see it nor if i had it where people can see it and it being an eye sore to most people.

im surprised nobody responded, looking good dude
Same here. Since the last pics I posted before these the plants gotten a good amount bigger. I think my Lemon basil is starting to flower since I never touched the tops of them since I started them but I could be wrong. I also took a cutting off the top and placed it in some water. Gonna see how it does and going to plant it into soil. I've been thinking about buying their tree seed kit and grow my own tree for Christmas witch would be pretty cool being able to have a growing tree but also when people ask I can tell them that I grew it my self and its still a live growing tree.

Also I might take some of the cuttings plant them in soil see how they do and maybe even sell some potted herb plants since they cost around $5 per single plant in a little 4 inch pot and you can only buy them in the spring and most of the summer.

I made some tea with the lemon basil and it tasted really good actually. It needed a bit of sugar or I might have been able to use honey in order to bring out the lemon flavor.

If I get the money I might invest into a 2nd one down the road but also I plan on buying a EZ Cloner to.
